That is what your outreach to MAGA and GOP is putting you in jeopardy of…GETTING FIRED QUICKLY.
I live in a small town in Ohio and your assessment of GOP voters is very flawed. My extended family is made up of people who earn less than 400K but are very comfortable. And oh yea they voted for Trump and the GOP in mass They do not care about any progressive issue like Medicare for all or child care or rights for minorities or being anti war. They care about making their lives easier with less regulation and lower taxes. These are the vast majority of voters who put Trump over the top. They are also highly unlikely to stop being GOP voters ever because they are actually libertarian and not MAGA. Their mantra is I GOT MINE SO FUCK YOU LOSER.
Reach out to the slim minority of MAGA voters who hate war and corruption all you want but that will not make a dent in the true GOP coalition
There are lots of people that flip flop parties in their votes.
When I briefly dabbled in Green Party organizing, I was obsessed with learning about peoples paths to the Green Party and their past presidential voting records. I was shocked to learn that plenty of folks had voted for Republicans in the past. I had assumed most would be former Dems that moved further left, but that was not the case at all. I always wanted to know when they had that ‘A ha’ moment to stop following establishment party bs. And I always asked which President caused them to hit that tipping point of looking outside the 2 parties.
My own disgust started with Obama but it wasn’t until Hillary vs Bernie that I no longer felt loyal to the Dem Party and would consider a 3rd party path.
If you are going to help create ‘a ha’ moments for Trump voters, or if they hit that moment and are open to something else… it is good that someone like Cenk is getting invited into their media world. We don’t want them to only see the likes of a Pete Buttejieg supposedly representing the ‘left’
Trump is going to shock and disappoint his supporters, but when do they get fed up and look elsewhere??? it wont happen all at once.
Gaining trust and respect takes time. Democracy is harder than a football season.
Before you gloat on your next show, Cenk: would it have been even better right now if you didn’t COLLABORATE with the one-percenters in the first place?? (never mind MAGAs who work for a living -news flash: Musk doesn’t work for a living, he jerks for a living…)
To the poster who opened this thread: Cenk invested over 20 years trying to get the Dem Party to come around to the needs of middle class/working class Americans. After Harris had a tin ear to those needs, is it any wonder he probably snapped due to insanity? I think Cenk has learned his lesson, and if he ever works with someone not aligned with most of his interests, he will now more carefully scrutinize them. The amount of money someone across the aisle controls is a big hint as to their intentions, [It would also help, Cenk, if you were to admit collaborating with Musk and The Swami was a BFM. Agreeing with a post Elon made on Twitter and then responding to said post is not “collaborating”. It is calling Elon out and holding his feet to the fire. Now we sit and see if Elon goes through with what he said. When he doesn’t; as evidenced by his already moving on to something new, Cenk needs to call him out on it and I think he will.
(Did I miss where the 1-10 came from?) To be fair, in baseball what I would consider a crap batting record is highly exalted. It’s all about perspective.
