I don’t want to popularize Fuentes by discussing him -but he’s already a phenomena, and his actions will have negative consequences with regards to abetting Zionism.
He has a dangerous message: he blends actual antisemitism (often sliding into the use of the term “Jews”…) with a discussion of actual racism perpetrated by Zionists. So while he thinks he’s taking down Zionism, he’s lending credence to Netanyahoo claiming that influencers are engaging in antisemitism -and MOST are not; with the exception of 4chan (or sometimes Twitter?), they usually get deplatformed.
Jews are a race; Zionism is a state ideology that has gone to a very dark place under Netanyahoo. It makes no more sense to hold Jews accountable for the recent actions of Israel (unless you are among the ones endorsing it, of course!) than it would have to chastise German immigrants for the practices of the Nazis. I know that’s a der-hey for most intelligent people, but Fuentes wants to partially build on a following that is not so well-informed.
So the irony of Fuentes is that by playing fast and loose with ascribing blame to a race, he actually KEEPS butchers like Nutanyahoo and his coterie in the game! (because people will back Netanyahoo as being justified in dismissing all criticisms of his heinous actions as merely being the talking points of race-baiters like Fuentes…)
