I Predicted This, And That Democrats Did Not Have To Let It Happen

See my collected analysis from the TYT forums, published October 28, 2024: Kamala Harris Will Likely Win, But Democrats Might Screw It Up

Looks like no one among the Democrats will ever see this, and read what I have been trying to say so they can learn from their mistakes. It is very frustrating when you KNOW a thing, but you cannot effectively disseminate it to where it needs to go.

Well, whose fault was her not OFFERING any significant policy initiatives [other than a meager Bush-style tax cut] for improving job/living security? And toning down WWIII?? That’s on her, not the Party. She was in the driver’s seat. Even if she got bad advice, it was her idea to follow the advice of people who were CLEARLY not of the Carville/Cenk mindset

OK, you can say sexism and racism contributed, but that was egregious on her part to just refollow the Clinton 2016 playbook…

I knew Trump would win. I asked my husband last night who he thought would win and he said Harris. I said Trump. I saw it coming from miles away. I tried to stay hopeful for others despite knowing Trump would win. But to be quite honest, Democrats earned this loss. Why do I say earned? Because every action by those in positions of power in the Democratic party made this happen. Every choice they made has led us here. Every choice they made forced us to make choices for ourselves that created this outcome.

Here’s why:

  • No primaries for the Democratic candidate. Joe Biden was the only person on my primary ballot, and Florida canceled theirs all together. I wrote in a third party candidate who was denied the right to appear on the ballot.
  • When Joe Biden stepped down, Kamala Harris was anointed by the party without a single person casting a vote in her favor, rather than allowing delegates to vet a range of candidates in an open convention.
  • Because Harris was VP for the last 4 years, the lack of tangible accomplishments for the average American during the Biden administration were seen as her having also done nothing the past 4 years as well.
  • The Harris campaign spent more time fear mongering about Trump and aligning themselves with war criminals than putting out achievable and realistic policy proposals in a way that resonated and stuck with the electorate.
  • The Harris campaign avoided addressing the very real problems the economy and undocumented immigrants are creating for millions of people across the country.
  • Harris and Biden have, in every way that matters, supported Israel’s unrelenting war against Palastians and their Muslim neighbors, alienating critical sections of the electorate.
  • The Harris campaign allowed surrogates like Mark Cuban, a billionaire, to talk to poor and middle class Americans about how Harris would support people like him instead of those struggling the most.
  • The Harris campaign did nothing to curb hyperbolic statements from party members like Rep. Debbie Dingell’s about Trump installing internment camps for his political enemies, further dividing Americans from each other.

I don’t blame the people who stayed home. They only made a choice based on all the terrible choices of the Democratic leadership, Harris’s campaign, and Harris herself.

@patrie The presidential nominee is not going to be allowed to campaign on anything except what the party mandates. I am also pretty sure Walz was NOT the vice-presidential candidate that the Democrats wanted to field, as evidenced by their burial of his participation in the campaign. I am pretty sure that she did that against the party mandate, and then the party laid down the law.

If you read my collected posts (Kamala Harris Will Likely Win, But Democrats Might Screw It Up), you will see that I predicted what will likely happen:

  • Kamala will win if party gets behind her, builds coalitions, and works their ass off. They did none of that.
  • There will be a near record turnout due to Republican zeal.
  • Only a small vocal minority were crossing party lines to vote for Harris.
  • And more.

All of it is originally posted here on the forums. I guess very few pay attention to what others are saying. Most everyone is Bubbled.

That might have been a Biden decision (see, Harris Apologists? I can cut her slack…)

BING-FUCKING-O! A rinse+repeat of the failed 2016 Clinton playbook. I only saw a meager Bush style tax cut. I know they would argue they did Herculean things to keep the economy running post-Great Closing, but guess what? It was NOT going to be sufficient. People went with the Scratch Off Chaos Lottery candidate.

Given she retained a tin ear, I don’t feel bad at all for Harris. Not announcing a concession this morning so she could thank her campaign workers, that was lame. It was consistent with her Al Smith dinner snub, given with no explanation whatsoever.

But I was thinking tonight of all her campaign workers who gave their all for her; little old ladies and kindly women, often going door to door in sketchy parts of their towns. Bums me out! Evil triumphs…
