Here’s an interesting question: can Mamdani organize a bounty for an arrest by private contractor(s)?
They can be vetted by his office, to verify they are professionals; then deputized as authorized law enforcement agent(s) and issued temporary concealed carry permits. He doesn’t even have to spend any City money on it; a pot can be funded by private organizations. And if it’s not accomplished, the funds can go back to Palestinian medical and food relief.
Could a bounty hunter pull it off? I agree it would be a monumental challenge. But having the Mossad, FBI, and Secret Service nervous about what a very smart person might try; handbills all over the City: “WANTED FOR WAR CRIMES…BY THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT” -the further branding of him as a supercriminal can only have positive consequences, even if he is not apprehended. And then more aid goes back to the Palestinians…
