Heavy as Brazilian band Sepultura.
Q: âExcuse me, maâm; what type of music do you play here?â
A: âBoth kinds! Country AND Western!â
Last Thing On My Mind-Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner
(TV appearance; needs the volume cranked upâŠ)
The Fugitive-Merle Haggard
FYI: where possible, I try to get a TV performance; but if the production is much better with a studio recording, I run with thatâŠ
âWhy Socialism?â is an article written by Albert Einstein in May 1949 that appeared in the first issue of the socialist journal Monthly Review. It addresses problems with capitalism, predatory economic competition, and growing wealth inequality.
Hobo Johnson made it a song.
I honestly dont have much knowledge of what socialism really is and have no interest in researching it, but its an idea, just like the idea of currency and capitalism . If one thing doesnt work lets move to the next.
This should be our anthem.
That is so great!
(Scottish group, by the wayâŠ)
They achieve a great effect of cellos bowing using electronic instrumentation. They also do this pulse effect at the end of each round that sounds like a heartbeat.
(wait for the vocal harmonics at around 1:00âŠ)
The Healing Lake-Rudy Adrian
(the title track; âenvironmentalâ musicâŠ)
The entire album (link) is fantastic for taking a nap to -and believe me: thatâs no trivializationâŠ
Now I want a beer (and I hardly ever want a beer)!
I just meditated on the entire album, which was amazing (Iâm not having a great heart day today, so thank you!). Except for the part where someone put in what looks like a song but is actually someone talking about making âeasy moneyâ in âthe exciting world of digital marketing.â I was so zenned out and in my own little world that I almost had another heart attack!
You can use âclipgrabâ to download it; then âAudacityâ to cut out anything you didnât ask for (or of course, order it onlineâŠ)
The Good Humor Man He Sees Everything Like This-Love
(from the album Forever Changes, 1967)
Love, an LA band, is well known among musicians, but little known among many. Their songs on this album are a strange blend of orchestral and rock music. They didnât bother to promote themselves with tours. Jim Morrison of The Doors had said in his early days something to the effect: âIf I can just attain the fame that Love has, I know I will have been a successâŠâ (ironic given that after that he had become hugely popular, and yet Love remained unknown in most of the countryâŠ)
Care of Cell 44-Zombies
(from the album Odyssey and Oracle)
Thereâs a little of the Beach Boys Good Vibrations sound in there; maybe they borrowed from it, but I feel the entire song is a more substantial sound.
