Ope Hope Book Club?

Which book should we read first?

We’re excited to get started with our book club, and we need your help selecting the first book to read together. Below is a list of potential books, each offering unique insights into politics, history, social justice, and building a better society.

Please select the book you’re most interested in exploring with the group!

I know, right?! Just so everyone knows, I just got Audible, so when I say “read” I actually mean “listen.” :joy:

I got my vote in, thank you!

FTR, I went with GoodReads to be open to diverse viewpoints.

I even asked my conservative and libertarian connections for book recommendations.

I want a safe space to learn. I also want to be challenged. Who knows where we could find useful ideas.

Hoping to get more people signed up, choose the first book, and have online discussions.

Looking to have first Zoom early December.

GoodReads does have a mobile app.

I read mainly Comic Books and love how the artist and writers can put things in the stories that are very relevant to todays world. I submitted my request but haven’t heard back. I joined Goodreads for this club. If I haven’t been accepted, does that mean I was rejected?

I don’t run it, but I guarantee you that @mggbwmn8 would not reject you! She wouldn’t reject anyone. I’m sure she’ll add you ASAP. I know we’re reading (I’m listening to) A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn. She’d mentioned having a Zoom meeting in early December and having discussions online as well. (I’m kinda hoping we meet in January and early December, if everyone can, to give us all time to get started and get through the holidays.) I’m so glad you’re going to be in the club!
