We’re excited to get started with our book club, and we need your help selecting the first book to read together. Below is a list of potential books, each offering unique insights into politics, history, social justice, and building a better society.
Please select the book you’re most interested in exploring with the group!
I read mainly Comic Books and love how the artist and writers can put things in the stories that are very relevant to todays world. Back in 2017 DC Comics did an issue of Superman where he is zooming around the world stopping criminals and helping in disasters. One of the spots Superman saved undocumented workers from a racist https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/9/15/16307794/superman-undocumented-workers-white-supremacist-action-comics.
I don’t run it, but I guarantee you that @mggbwmn8 would not reject you! She wouldn’t reject anyone. I’m sure she’ll add you ASAP. I know we’re reading (I’m listening to) A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn. She’d mentioned having a Zoom meeting in early December and having discussions online as well. (I’m kinda hoping we meet in January and early December, if everyone can, to give us all time to get started and get through the holidays.) I’m so glad you’re going to be in the club!
