Project: Fair Drug Prices

Pushing MAGA to accept “progressive policies” may not be the most effective approach. Populist policies (which happen to also be progressive) might be a better angle. When you’re reaching across the aisle on issues where we know there is agreement (populist by definition), you’ll have a much greater chance of success. This is the basis for the Populist Plank, which lowering drug prices is included in.

The way I see it, you may as well go ahead and figure out if the guy is a real populist or not. If he opposes populist policies, you have your answer and you’re just pumping a dry well. If the purpose of the relationship is to sway him on policy, not approaching the policies is just wasting everyone’s time. I don’t think he’s likely to be more persuaded because of a feigned courtship.

Ok, I picked the wrong term, populist policies, is that better.

He’s not going to be moveable on much, but a POPULIST bill like hr3493 might have a chance with him.

I was just looking for some pointers or tips for such a conversation from people who may e had them successfully.

Anyone like that out there?

Looking for something constructive, not someone saying I’m “wasting everyone’s time.”.

To quote Ian McKaye “at least I’m fing trying”

Love Fugazi! This bill was taken verbatim from Trump’s executive order.
