The Economy, Stupid

Possible game-over for his furnishing his buddies with insider trading tips…

Court says Trump doesn’t have the authority to set tariffs

It will get appealed to the Supreme Court; expect a lot of bad faith trade threats before then, so his buddies can make more money on timing the market based on insider tips.

The markets will explode tomorrow (they will presume the Supreme Court will bring it to an end…)

He’s technically still in office; but this day will be remembered as the turning point. And he did it to himself.

This was his Waterloo…his Stalingrad…

The markets are relatively flat at the moment, but they ramped in the days before; that might be the captains of industry getting tipped off by lawyers or even judges that it was going to go that way…

Woot! We’re getting 10 trillion in factories!!

“They’re here!”

Personally experienced the first Trump-Luttnick scam tax; pineapple juice went up by 15% (it was probably coming from Mexico or Central America…)

Post on this thread price increases or shelf shortages (NO EGGS PLEASE; that’s mostly an avian flu thing, and you can work around eggs by using soy or plant binders -unless they go up too!!)

Ah, the classic Wall Street joke:

Debater #1: “In the long run…”
Debater #2: “In the long, we’re all dead!

  • Even if I were to believe that, what are Americans supposed to do about across-the-board inflation and shortages on our “quaint groceries” that are starting to take effect NOW and for the near-term?

  • Across-the-board tariffs are illegal; it doesn’t take an Edgar Cayce to see that the Supreme Court will not support them. They are saying they have alternatives to the Executive Order method, outside the cooperation of Congress. That will just make for more market chaos. Again: even if I were to believe it (and I DON’T…), the cure will work but the patients will die before it can rectify the situation. Very convenient when you can sit this out in your bunker on your La-Z-Boy.

  • Ah -but will side-deals from tariff negotiations benefit Bunker Boy and company? (payable in BRIBEcoins…) Will a guy who used to work at a bond company (and in all likelihood still has connections to them…) benefit from the market volatility?? And don’t forget the insider tips they can sell before regulatory changes get announced! (payed off with BRIBEcoins…)

  • The biggest hole in the logic of this story: DOES TRADE BETWEEN COUNTRIES, UPON WHICH YOU ARE BASING THIS NEWFOUND REVENUE, REMAIN THE SAME OVER “A DECADE”? Of course not! New trading alliances change over time, standings of government debt and currencies change, and so it’s pretty near impossible to estimate what the state of affairs in 10 years will be with regard to trade surpluses. We are starting to know what they are NOW!

Allowing for food costs (“quaint groceries”?) to inflate while handing out NEW -NEW- tax breaks for the Billionaires Boys Club is just as despicable as the no-strings-attached TARP bailout of 2008. They are trying to do the EXACT same thing they did in 2008: “Hey, be cool, people who work! Things are going to get great in the future!!”

Had enough yet, MAGAs and Indies who work??

Dean then pointed out that Walmart has already increased the cost of bananas by 8%.

Lutnick claimed prices would go back down as countries continue to make new deals with the U.S.

However, Dean was focused on the very real present and not Lutnick’s nebulous future predictions.

″But the cost is on the American consumer now, and on the businesses with the confusion now,” she said.

Why Trump got pissed at the Federalist Society

“The Big Beautiful for Billionaires…” -fun-nee.

The Kochs wanted a pollution agenda pushed by courts? Hmm; you don’t say.

Hmm; who’s been saying on these boards repeatedly that we need to work outside the duopoly parties to improve worker rights and fight pollution? (since they are both corporate profit issues that the corporately owned parties will never ever address…)

Counting down to six months for petitions-to-ballot to be filed in time for Independent House Representatives for the midterms (allowing time for INEVITABLE court challenges that will be made by The Duopoly…) Great Bernie: continue doing your impersonation of a fucking ficus plant, refusing to organize a vetting committee for such an alliance that won’t degenerate into a herd of cats. Who else could be trusted to appoint an unimpeachable vetting committee? Sorry, it falls on you, like it or not. I know it won’t make everybody happy at some point with you; but it’s the only way out from this sold-off two-party duopoly system that I can see…

Yup! It’s not just Trump looking to demolish the standard of living of American workers -it’s Congress too!

Uhh…you mean to say TRUMP affecting US oil; right??

Propaganda! That is not what we are seeing at our “quaint” grocery stores!!

When cornered, Luttnick can’t address what happens in the here and now for months or years when the “quaint” groceries go up or off the shelves. But don’t worry, everybody: according to him, in ten years we’ll have TRILLIONS!

Turks segment

He has no constitutional authority to enforce across-the-board tariffs; they are illegal. When “Smoot-Hawley” tariffs were passed back around The Great Depression (remember that fun chapter in history?), they were an act of CONGRESS; not the executive branch.

IMPEACH!

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

IMPEACH!

Not for the dollar drop; but for ILLEGAL across-the-board tariffs -only Congress can do those.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

You guys thinking impeachment is not in the cards now? He’ll be lucky to escape a guillotining!

He better have his jet fueled up and ready to bounce to Dubai.

Wait for it: “My [illegal across-the-board] tariffs didn’t do this! It’s all Biden’s fault!!”

Der hey!

“HA HA HA -I’M THE GOD!”

Ohhh…so the “quaint” grocery prices going up is “help”! I did not know that.

I can hardly wait to see the trillion Luttnick says we will get in TEN YEARS…
