Between ignoring the courts, purging the Pentagon and other federal agencies, the media intimidation, etc. we are well down the slippery slope. The sense of urgency doesnt seem to be there and it feels like we are walking into actual authoritarianism. The Operation Hope coalition can be a rally point. Maybe I am overreacting, but shouldnt there be a much greater sense of urfency among the proliferate? He is in the middle of sucker punching us and we seem to be letting him.

Well, I’m waiting for the shoe of dictatorship to drop. So the entire we-need-to-act-local thing goes out the window in a country where federal laws prevent, for example, the building of wind mills to do green power.
But let’s say some States/governors collaborate and act to prevent that pending dictatorship. Having people run Independent for Congress around a core set of issues addressing worker rights and anti-pollution, there is nothing stopping you. Money can’t prevent those candidates from appearing on the ballots if they did their petitioning (it CAN slow it down with legal challenges, but to fight that you allow plenty of time to get the petitions vetted BEFORE the election…)
OK, plutocrats and corporations have access to billboards and bot armies; there are still places to promote such candidates. Corporate news has been discredited, and their following is dwindling.
Would I prefer Equal Time and campaign spending limits? Sure! But you gotta deal and play the hand you are dealt. If you get a lot of Indies into Congress at some point, you can eventually get to address that…

Yeah, um that slippery slope everyone has talked about ad nauseum, for years. We are in the middle of careening down said slope, as I write this. I am not sure when everyone finally sees it. I hope soon. Its gonna take all of us, now.

This is what I mean when I say attacking the problem on multiple fronts…
Cenk has been demonized for appealing to the populist right but now they are parroting Cenk’s words and pulling back the “hatchet.” We all have different strategies with the same goals. It seems Cenk’s strategy is working. The infighting must stop.
