Educated guess: seeing as how SNAP benefits cut off in many States by November 1st, if the Dems do not float this offer/gesture WITHIN 48 HOURS, they will have lost the shutdown fight.
They don’t need ALL the Dems to sign onto it; just at least a majority. If they DO do it, the Repubs will probably run to Trump to get him to run up the white flag. I can’t see the current composition of Repubs matching that action! They are EXTREMELY transactional, just like Trump.
But as always: Trump’s circle of grifters will do the Orwell thing and claim that he won.
If the Dems are rationalizing that there’s no point to make this sacrifice since their total pay would not put a dent in the SNAP (or federal employee) benefits shortfall, they are dead wrong. It demonstrates to their constituents that their skin is also in the game, and thus they would be much less likely to shoulder blame for the shutdown…
Will it pass the Senate?? Don’t be surprised if corporate Dems in the Senate burn down any remaining cred their Party has. The Trump Grifters and AIPAC have been using the shutdown to covertly negotiate capitulation there.

The perfect timing for the impeachment is before the midterms, when a number of Repubs will climb on board to save their skins.
I heard there might be another shutdown; there is no credibility whatsoever for that unless the Dems at least try to pass legislation to stop congressional pay when such a shutdown is done.
If using an open investigation that will be made to languish is the strategy to block the release, I think Congress has to SIMULTANEOUSLY impeach Trump and Bondi…

A rumor making the rounds: the reason why he’s accepting a release (but we have to wait for him to lamely claim they can’t be because Bondi will sit on them, right??) is because they have redacted everything that’s a liability.
There are a couple of problems with that theory:
You can miss something.
Those files had been accessible to lawyers and FORMER DOJ personnel. If they notice something blockbuster has been yanked, and they had a copy retained on a USB or snapped with a cellphone BEFORE they left office, this will make for one hell of an anonymous whistleblower drop!
I’m not saying they won’t try it! Their stupidity to date has been stupendous. But if they do, it’s just a matter of time before unredacted versions show up online…

It is a very long article but I think it provides reasons or clues to what Trump is hiding and how Biden may have, at min, been protecting Clinton.
I stumbled upon many articles after looking up individuals named in Virgina Giuffre’s publically released case documents. In some of the discovery/interrogatory answers there were names listed as people with knowledge of Epstein/Maxwell’s activities. And she named a foreign President that might be Andreas Pastrana where I found an article where Epstein flew him to see Fidel Castro. Picture of them in the article. not linked here.
One thing intriguing… in the discovery documents called EpsteinDocs-Batch5.pdf there was a declaration of Paul G Cassell in support of Plaintiffs Opposition to Proposed Intervenor Alan M Dershowitz’s Motion for Permissive Intervention…. Virginia’s attorney explained that victims filed discovery about Dershowitz, Prince Andrews and others. While discovery was pending victims attys wanted to add Giuffre as Jane Doe Number3. Then Dershowitz filed a motion to intervene to have allegations against him stricken. And then in Jan 2015 Dershowitz launched a media attack on Giuffre and her attorneys to which the attorneys filed a defamation suit against Dershowitz. During the defamation suit between these lawyers, Dershowitz sought discovery against Virginia Giuffre… and Dershowitz took Giuffre’s deposition!!! If he actually assaulted her and then had the audacity to depose her??? Ultimately the defamation case between Guiffre’s attys and Dershowitz was settled but Guiffre’s attorneys made clear that their settlement should not be construed as them being mistaken as to Giuffre’s claims of sexual allegations against Dershowitz.
So If Ana ever goes on a show with Dershowitz again she should ask some questions about why Virginia had accused Dershowitz and the defamation settlement he made with her attorneys.
Also I have to give a shout out to Tucker Carlson’s jaw dropping interview with Darryl Cooper who described how Bill Barr’s father Donald Barr hired Epstein as a teacher at that elite NY high school and the maybe not so ironic situation that Bill Barr was AG closing the investigation on Epstein’s death??? That is a must watch interview… so much there too.
This was another concerning article because Virgina described another assault in France by a major hotel chain owner and then I found this article about Tom Pritzker the cousin of Il Gov Pritzker. We cannot allow more Pres candidates to get elected who may have incentive to cover this up!
That’s an understatement. The writer needed a TLDR section to summarize it down to five sentences, tops. It pretty much shows Trump is greasy -not a revelation to many. MAGA’s take on Trumo is like that famous quote about a Latin American dictator made by an old CIA officer: “He might be a bastard -but he’s OUR bastard!”

This article could not be summarized so easily. The part where they talk about the plaza suites used by organized crime to sexually blackmail powerful gov’t officials and Trump’s mentor Roy Cohen known connections to this and then after Trump bought the plaza he too was accused of hosting parties with young girls getting introduced to older men with illicit drug use…. that’s when I thought ding ding ding… that is what Trump could be hiding. But do not skip over everything else in this article.

PS Regarding the “first phase”? In court cases, if you can’t think you can make a deadline, you ask a judge for more time BEFORE a deadline. You might not get the amount you need, but most litigants are usually reasonable about it.
I’m sure if the DOJ asked for more time a week ago, most in Congress would have extended it if it was not a crazy amount of time. But their self-decreed new deadlines are the classic fuck you Trump move, and it’s high time for Congress to go “fuck you back”!

I only have to add that if there is no strategy to secure a supermajority against Trumpers (which does not necessarily have to be a Dem supermajority, it could be made up of Dems and an alliance of Independents…), it’s over. If the Dems want to get reelected primarily so they can get AIPAC funding -and Indies and former Repubs will be able to read that room by the midterms in two seconds -it’s over! The damage wrought by a Supreme Court now stocked with whack-a-doos will NEVER be undone!

In the doc dump, you will see a letter addressed to the pedo Nassar from Epstein; it mentions the author, Epstein, forecasting that he will take his life. The FBI is charged with the duty of intaking any such mail that comes into their possession. While some point to this as buttressing the case that Epstein committed suicide, the problem is the postmark (Virgina, I hear?) does not make sense for MCC or where Epstein’s legal would have likely mailed his correspondence from. MAYBE a lawyer charged with that task went to DC and did a side stop at a Virginia post office?
Another problem with the letter is: would his narcissm permit him to cop to that to the public, to memorialize his reputation? (regardless as to how damaged it was at that point…) I can’t see it. “Oh, come on! Everyone knew he was assaulting!” His co-conspirators knew; but the image he was selling to the public was he gets pretty girls to give him therapeutic massages. Him being a narcissist, as bleak as things looked, he would probably still be attempting to memorialize that canard.
A poison pill for Trump? Maybe. But it could just as well be disinfo generated by Israel, to take the heat off a possible assassination.
While it merits a closer look, an assassination of Epstein is still the Occam’s Razer explanation, until the person charged with handling Epstein’s Email while at MCC would swear under oath that they had mailed some correspondence for him from Virginia.
I must confess that I did NOT see this one coming: the ability to unredact Epstein docs. I thought it was just going to be an inevitable ton of redactions (like they often do with FOIA requests…) and months of cornering them legally to unredact more -a legal race down to the midterms wire! Well…that’s what the Repubs were led to believe, and once the discharge petition forced a vote, they supported the release [nearly] unanimously counting on that.
But now Bondi, Patel, and Trump have been caught in BRAZEN lies. There’s no more ability for anyone to remain in denial as it being “just the Dems” -anybody saying that is just engaging in trolling and also professing (NOT believing…) that Trump will have a third term and <wink>pro wrestling is real.</wink> Trump Repubs have completely lost the trust of MAGA and Indies.
It’s not a given that votes will convert to Dems because the owners of the Dem Party still want to stick to their AIPAC America-last guns! But any Repub running on the platform “Trump HAS TO go” in my opinion will soon enough be a shoe-in in Red districts.
Jim Jordan’s running interference for Trump, among others, will get him shellacked. Carrying water for Trump now will get you jack shit, unless you are presently getting pay from Trump’s frauds (I call those people the “ring of grifters” -his sons, Luttnick, etc.) MTG did a der-hey upon realizing this.
It can be hard to admit to constituents that you were so wrong on Trump. But if you go Repub and are not on record as having supported him, it can be snap easy to have a platform now of Never Trump. Voters are so fed up with AIPAC/America Last, if they are in a Red district they will sooner opt for a Repub option of a Never Trumper (no matter that the Repub party had enabled him…) If you had asked a Repub in a red district two weeks ago if they would want to run against a Trump Repub, they would have been inclined to say no, knowing how deep the MAGA denial ran about Trump/Epstein. Now, after the redaction blunder, showing that Trump had been brazenly lying to them? There will be a number of Never Trumpers running in midterm red district primaries against the likes of Jim Jordan and Lindsey Graham. My guess is some will now be running on campaign promises to impeach Trump. “MAGA” will get replaced by “America First”.
Time to wake up to this, Dem Party that is owned by corporate anti-worker/anti-union and Israeli interests. Time to wake up Sanders, if you want to save the country from the worst inclinations of the present owners of the Dem Party with an alliance of Independents.
The only way the Dem Party could win back Indies and former MAGAs would be to adopt party platforms of:
repudiating AIPAC and all subsequent Israeli donor money;
announce a commitment to abolishing “right to work” and advocating union rights; and
adopt a sane immigration and border policy that screens for violent criminal histories, as opposed to the presently insane Steven Miller/Trump one.
Not going to happen! Will Sanders finally step up with a group of Indies who can be balloted by petition? If he doesn’t: last one out, be sure to turn off the lights.
Remember: the objective here would be to get a NON-REPUBLICAN supermajority to repair the catastrophic damage done at the Supreme Court.
Anything short of that is a rearrangement of the deck chairs on the U.S.S.Titanic. Repubs, even Never Trumpers, would never go for that.

The President is a King.Egregious charges of corruption, even though it is supported by strong evidence, cannot be lodged against the President while in office, and he/she can effectively duck them by flying out to a foreign country on his/her last day in office, after having pardoned all his/her enablers. [You also need a supermajority to get an amendment passed to limit the pardons a president can dispense in a term (1,000 would be practical based on precedent; tying it to an amount based on the national population count would be reasonable…)]
Gerrymandering is A-OK (proven by a lower court to have been done along racial lines, no less!) Court: “Go pass an amendment!” You know that’s politically fraught, though I would like to see it done by possibly postal codes. Until then, should you be ignoring that a fundamental principle of representational democracy is being screwed around with for OBVIOUS partisan advantage?
The president can whimsically set and retract across-the-board tariffs. Broad tariffs end up being taxes levied by a President on MANY goods and services -Tea Party anyone?? And I’m referring to the 1773 one, as opposed to the tax dodger one. [Targeted tariffs proscribed by a president had been previously sanctioned by Congress, allowing him/her to respond swiftly to trade injustices as they arise.]
Domestic deployment by the president of military forces (like the Marines…) without the invitation of a governor is A-OK. [Update: the Court might have just rescinded this - I will strike this point from this list if the new decision survives challenges.]
