TYT Jukebox (post anything you enjoy)

Thanks for the tip; I’m definitely going to check it out with my kids! I agree that Dylan didn’t do much of anything regarding activism. He only gets a lot of undue credit for it because activists used his music before he even became famous. The man can write a song, though!

“Be like water” i love the saying, it was also from a different time in history and we need to update/adapt such thinking.
For one stagnant water is bad.
Secondly under enough pressure, water can do some powerful and miraculous things. From steam engines to cutting the strongest materials like diamond.

“No one knows what it’s like…to be the SAD man…” (link)

Trump’s anthem; hopefully The Who won’t mind him using it…

No one knows what it’s like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it’s like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies

But my dreams, they aren’t as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance that’s never free

No one knows what it’s like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you

No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through

But my dreams, they aren’t as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance that’s never free

Mm, mm

When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool

And if I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
And if I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

No one knows what it’s like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

Pressed Rat and Warthog

Pressed Rat and Warthog have closed down their shop
They didn’t want to; 'twas all they had got
Selling atonal apples, amplified heat
And Pressed Rat’s collection of dog legs and feet
Sadly, they left, telling no one goodbye
Pressed Rat wore red jodhpurs, Warthog a striped tie
Between them, they carried a three-legged sack
Went straight round the corner and never came back

Pressed Rat and Warthog have closed down their shop
The bad Captain Madman had told them to stop
Selling atonal apples, amplified heat
And Pressed Rat’s collection of dog legs and feet
The bad Captain Madman had ordered their fate
He laughed and stomped off with a nautical gate
The gait turned into a derogatory
And his peg leg got woodworm and broke into three

Pressed Rat and Warthog have closed down their shop
They didn’t want to; 'twas all they had got
Selling atonal apples, amplified heat
And Pressed Rat’s collection of dog legs and feet

I had to fix up some of the AI garnered lyrics (because we all know: AI is FANASTIC, right??)

“The gait turned into a derogatory” was listed as:

“The GATE turned into a DEROGA TREE”

It’s a good thing you checked, I would probably have totally missed it if it were me! :joy:

Hey: ELO wasn’t the only band to be inspired by the Beatles!

When Tom Hanks wrote and directed the movie, “That Thing You Do,” about a band in the mid-60s, he said that he thought the Dave Clark 5 would be way bigger than the Beatles. :joy:

Killers-Smile Like You Mean It

[The picture is a joke; from The Killers movie, 1964, with Ronald Reagan trying to break out of his “aw shucks” typecast roles…]

:notes:The world is riddled with maggots
The maggots are getting fat
They’re making a tasty meal of all
The bosses and bureaucrats

They’re taking over the boardrooms
And they’re fat and full of pride
And they all came out of the woodwork
On the day the Nazi died

So if you meet with these historians
I’ll tell you what to say
Tell them that the Nazis
Never really went away

They’re out there burning houses down
And peddling racist lies

And we’ll never rest again…
Until every Nazi dies…:notes:
