Linger-Cranberries
Great over-tracking of Riordan’s voice to create a harmonic chorus. I could be wrong, but this song appears to follow the John Barry (composer of classic Bond tunes…) rule of music: descending scales are great! Use lots of them.
A famous John Barry song that demonstrates that technique:
My Only Love-Roxy Music
I love the part in the song where the piano (electric piano? synth??) is hammering percussive high notes -was that the handiwork of Eno?
Your very welcome. I just figured for one music can have massive influences in peoples lives and alot of punk music i was brought up on spoke truth about the world to me. Also didnt seem like there was already a thread of everyones musical tastes so 2 birds one stone as they say.
Bloody love it when punk bands cover old songs. Here is my dads old ska band (he is usually the singer but Ben the guitarist joins in here) playing the song Hard times by The strange tenants just abit rougher than the original but my fav cover they did.
Flying-Beatles
FM DJs liked to use this song as a backdrop to making announcements; I would cuss them out: “Get off and let us listen to this song! It’s so short!!” The jazz tune was great -and that surreal ending!
