Absurdity in Minneapolis - What to do

I just saw a post on Youtube that stopped me in my tracks. It’s Sunday evening, January 11. I kid you not , but a GoFundMe page is set up for Jonathan Ross , the ICE agent who brutally killed Renee Nicole Good. As of tonight at 8:45pm , it’s almost $140,000. Essentially, America has paid an assassin. How screwed up is it that people are using their money to support a murderer. instead of the victim’s family , whom raised $1,500,000. before they cut it off. I am shook that there are folks willing to support an ICE agent , presumably along partisan lines , after illegally using power by the state, to murder unarmed citizens. The administration , without any investigation, has already smeared her, lying to the public to. justify their actions. The state of Minnesota needs to hold this piece of crap accountable. This is tyranny ,full stop and alarmingly too close to recent memory in 1930’s Germany . I watched Status Coup live to see fascism live. Wake up , everybody. This is a fight worth fighting. You’re right Jack, and sadly this support of fascist ideology has been building for years. The media has slowly declined for decades into a propaganda machine for the ultra rich, and stratification runs parallel to fascism right up to the point where the state takes control of private companies.

Most people are too busy with direct life stressors to ponder the messaging, and quickly fall into supporting comfort and convenience. It’s been decades, generations of disinformation. The mask is coming off. You’re right, it is a fight worth fighting, and they’ve organized, designed and built the lines of this front. It gives them an overwhelming advantage, despite the public sentiment against them.

People were much harder to control when we were able to speak in person without fear of physical harm, or professional retribution, when we weren’t battered with 24 hour propaganda entertainment. If we can start talking to people with opposing views without letting despair or rage drive the conversation, we can reach behind the impenetrable hatred that’s been tapped into that’s led our country here, and plant seeds of liberty and love.

Open hearts lead to open minds lead to open hearts.

Cenk often talks about whether or not it’s “time to panic”.

  • Uninvited masked federal agents are invading our cities.
  • ICE is kidnapping, attacking, and now murdering innocent people with full immunity.
  • Kids are getting pepper sprayed by federal agents in schools.
  • Our military kidnapped a foreign leader who posed no threat to us in order to steal their oil.
  • Iran has been bombed and is being threatened.
  • The president has threatened, and will not rule out, conquering Greenland by military force.
  • Millions of people are fine with some or all of this, and much more.
  • There is barely a peep coming from establishment Democrats, much less any coordinated strategy to stop an increasingly inevitable full-blown descent into fascism.

It’s time to panic.

The alarm bells have definitely been ringing. We should all be arranging and organizing, and taking what action we can. Cenk says that there are lines that haven’t been crossed that represent the points that we should treat this as an emergency, but like you’ve just lined out, a lot of lines have already been crossed that should be viewed as alarming and dangerous.

The ‘taking action’ step is what’s particularly difficult in this situation, since the shifts in community, society and technology have reshaped the way people interact and what information we consume and then share. I assume that when you say panic you’re not suggesting we act out of fear and throw caution to the wind, but we treat this like the emergency it is. Each of us needs to act with a sense of urgency here, but don’t hurry and rush without a plan.

Fascism has deep roots in America. Our genocide of the Native Americans, our invention of chattel slavery, the ability to allow for the worst of humanity to fester and spread by claiming freedom while suppressing divergent beliefs.

I think we need multiple paths being taken. Short, medium and long term. Yes, we have to be present to help people who are being assaulted, abused and killed. Immediate action. A medium term action could be contacting city and county officials, local businesses and local community groups to have a plan in place for if and when ICE shows up near you.

Long term is a broad horizon since there’s no telling how far this will go, but legislation on multiple fronts is probably what’s needed. Maybe we can get more than just a few congresspersons to stand up and represent.

How difficult would it be to retool the ‘Email Your Lawmakers’ tool from the Populist Plank and use it regarding ICE?

TYT has done that for other stuff we E-Mailed our Congress People about so should be simple you would think.

And great idea.

Yes , great idea. I’m reinstating on the Idea platform for a way to identify ICE agents, unmask these fuckers, and spread their names on social media. They have to be held accountable. Jack

FINALLY: a thorough account of what had happened!

No “brandishing” -wotta’ surprise!

They had hoped to spin it being on his person as him flaunting it; there was absolutely no menacing action on his part!

“Today Minneapolis; tomorrow the World!”

He’s a full fledge Nazi . This is contemporary America. I feel such sadness and shame

This tells you all you need to know about just how sick Trump is. “I enabled both of these killings -but hey, I have more sympathy for the one where they liked me…”

But Rittenhouse? No problem!
