Ana vs. AOC

Not sure what to make of this. I think the supposed “rightward” pivot from Ana & Cenk is overblown. AOC should have just left well enough alone. But, what do you all think?

Some pundits are equivocating on AOC’s vote of “present” as not being an Israel-First sell out. But at the very least, AOC could have said that she would vote no until the Gaza crap stops, right?

AOC was triangulating to win at a later date Chuck Schumer’s orthodox and pro-Zionist constituency. That is not the thinking that Mamdani has used.

I am not impressed with AOC, although she does do the boring work of “fixing potholes” that a politico needs to do (and Mamdani is trying to do right now…) When people talk her up as a presidential 2028 candidate, I say give me a break. I’d much rather see her as a Senate replacement for Schumer, who along with Jeffries enabled no vote taking place on a War Powers vote on Iran (and thus further enabled, once again, Trump…)

The only critique I have to say on Ana is: sometimes less is more. She produced the receipts she needed, but her response segment could have been shorter.

[I recently saw a documentary on Roosevelt, discussing the drafting of his speech in response to Pearl Harbor. All his aides wanted a long speech, since it was going to be such a big move. He overruled them and kept it short -it turned out to be a great speech…]
