Just saw this video essentially positing that the US military could take on the rest of the world and win.
Do Americans actually think that the US could just defeat the world at will, or is just this moron?
Personally I wouldn’t share youtube videos with dumb content. With every view the youtuber gets more views and likely more ad money and in turn has more incentive to create more dumb content.

When they did the Iraq War (II), many chickenhawks were seeking it as a way to vindicate America for the loss in Vietnam. But they couldn’t ““win”” the Iraq ““war”” (occupation…) until they did a “surge”: a surge of bribes to get the Bathists they locked out of government (and had huge hidden caches of weapons…) on board with laying off the IEDs and whatnot.
America had among the finest militaries after WWII; but NO ONE can win a war of indefinite occupation. Ask the Romans, the Nazis, Napolean, … The US was afraid of a repeat of engagement with the Chinese in Vietnam, so if they didn’t want to face that, there was little point to the Vietnam War; it was a bleedout for America.

I didn’t see the video, but the only idiots that still think of empire are Neo-cons. They don’t realize that America was founded on ideas, not religion or wars. The military-industrial complex was a warning by a General that helped the US win WWII who became president. Neo-cons and defense contractors are interested in one thing: getting rich by gutting the American taxpayer
