Don't know what to do anymore

@mead4prez did you bother to read the original poster’s comment? Show some kindness, please. Maybe you posted here by mistake. I certainly struggle with the text window, and I see a message that this was your first time posting. So, I hope this was an error. But if it wasn’t, I beg of you: start a new thread or find a more appropriate one. This one is for lifting each other up. Your reply reads like someone who likes telling people they aren’t doing enough, and that is inappropriate. Be supportive here, please.

I’m sorry; please cite sentence or phrase that was “unkind”.

Onward since that isn’t likely.

A) I teach; 50+ years.

B) I give practical advice, not fluff.

C) I like people with ideas. I’m a great student, so why don’t you take that post, rewrite it and see if I can learn from you.

Otherwise, lecturing me with a wagging finger that can’t add to an instructive post is not unlike sitting on a finger to pump hot air out mouth. We all do it. But it rarely causes much progress, agreed?

p.s. I suppose I should upload my political affiliation, so perhaps that will assist you in developing our loving productive relationship.

Thank you @chrisneedshope you’re just awesome. I hear what you’re saying but it’s ok, I don’t take offense to @mead4prez post, I don’t feel they’re coming from a place of malice, they’re just offering a suggestion and honestly I would try it if I had the money and network of people. Alot of times it’s easy to mistake anything as harsh through emails and text messages, I’m sure it would be a lot different in person. Regardless I’m grateful for any feedback that’s productive or at least with the intention of being productive, and I may not be able to try this but someone who might be reading this could. We all will continue to lift each other yhe best way we can.

Hello, thank you for the advice and let’s continue to share and respect each other’s opinions. When I started this tread I was vulnerable and in a really bad place, @chrisneedshope were one of the people who really helped out of that place and they’re just looking out for me. Like I stated I don’t feel you meant any offense and neither were they. I really do appreciate the advice and hope you’ll share some more in the future

Having lived in VW vans & schoolbuses and pulling people out of tent cities and bushes into homes, classes and jobs (often work at home gigs) and knowing many infirmed & homeless have natl healthcare that feels like a death sentence, I would think MAAAYBE assembling a group of like-minded pissed jurors in similar situations MIGHT work. Need help?

Also I notice there are almost 25 people here. Perhaps when we get 40-80 we can find 25 to draft indictments. Gavin’s fumbling of billions in squandered homeless programs is legendary crime and gross negligence. While Jury Tool was originally inspired by Stephen Miller in Trump’s first term and his inhumane treatment of migrant children, since then many people qualify as plausibly guilty of a variety of crimes and should be indicted. Protesting or simply petitioning a corrupt government is kind of like asking your rapist to stop slapping you and please use a condom. Good luck with that. Indicting them forms a group that even if unsuccessful, may be able to co-op other actions or assist each other in unexpected ways.

Also another quickie / instant cure for bedless/homeless I have used for at least a dozen, perhaps 2 dozen over 30 years is to scan a Latitude 38 online classified and Craigslist for free or cheap sailboats. Add a $100-$500 outboard and learn to sail. I am happy to teach you and bang get off the dock and drop anchor. SoCal is fab territory and great medical services in Santa Barbara w free anchoring. A girl I taught this to to escape the stress of being a paramedic for 20 years bought her first small boat, then two bigger ones after that and is sitting in Santa Barbara right now at anchor, for free…Not a bad place to try and recover with a cheap lap pool right next to where you tie up your dingy..a good path for a little PT.

Also…old Grandma cure or at least ease some congestion, big grape juice jug (Snap eligible) and distilled water, mix 50/50 in each jug, drink from grape juice jug, cap tight and in 3-5 days it bloats, fizzes and forms sparkling grape cider. Keep an eye on it and drink often. When almost empty refill from gallon water container you did not drink from. It usually doesn’t ferment unless you do. You’ll find improved circulation, less joint pain and perhaps better renal function. Also…a sailor thrives on fish and Richard Dana went to sea a sickly teen expecting to die on his adventure, returning healthier than ever. Ya never know what a little fresh ocean air might do.

@cerberusalphagaming You’re welcome. I didn’t like how he spoke to you, but that’s a talk for another day. You deserve better, and from what I’ve seen after I replied to them, I’m even less impressed. I’m glad their message didn’t upset you, but the very fact that you felt the need to say “if I had…” is a red flag in my opinion. You are enough, and you are doing your best. Such talk is not “fluff,” and they will not take over this thread. Now, I’m going to figure out how to reply to your other message. Sending you some love.

Getting along when someone is vegan or Muslim/Jewish and we live under the same roof, and I make a BLT or corn dog and fire alarms go off in a home illustrates learning to live together on an increasingly diverse planet.

Working on Union electrician jobs I didn’t care if someone voted for Trump as long as they knew how to install a generator. Given multiple holocausts and genocides on Earth today, starting with a collapse of insects and disappearance of more than half the biosphere in a single human lifespan, I suggest we focus less on whether or not someone loves or hates particular social norms and instead fix a few key national and planetary issues.

I have faith the human brain trust of 8 billion can fix many things, though Gaza proved we are pretty inept even though “caring and compassion” hit record global levels evidenced by huge ongoing protests.

Perhaps suggestions we know work or might work might create progress.

The corn dog cooking in a Muslim home is a real example. My business partner in a computer store was a Muslim and his blonde trophy wife bought corn dogs to feed their kid, not realizing how sacrilegious it was to feed Chris, their child pork. Sam never knew and of course Chris loved them, but sparks flew when Sam saw me cooking one. There was a giant religious meeting that weekend to wash the pan 7 times in sand on the beach and when I came out to the living room that morning his whole family was there staring at me like I was Satan’s stepchild. I didn’t have the heart to tell them that Sam’s wife have been feeding them to Chris for months. Later when Sam found out she tried to commit suicide swallowing pills because he wanted a divorce. Thank God I was home that day and she made it to a hospital while I called Sam and told him his wife needed him at the hospital and to try to be a little kinder about her mistake.

This is an example of a cultural faux pas that is increasingly common in today’s diverse world. Once in awhile Senator Crenshaw says something worthy, and I remember him saying “Try not to offend and try not to be offended.” It’s a statement by someone who has seen too much war.

Raised by a Jewish Librarian I tend to just say the truth and cite facts and it often offends. I was permanently banned from going to synagogues by age 5 for bringing an old Palestinian map and repeatedly asking people “Why are you murdering Palestinians to steal their land?” Then I noticed every religion seems to have cancel culture psychology built into the playbook.

We had a huge coffee table book on World War II and I was familiar with Hitler’s expansive plans and Israel didn’t seem any different. As we learned in childhood history classes, European colonialism, slavery, racism, American imperialism which is off the charts, Israeli imperialism, which has created a record-breaking genocide in terms of kids killed per day, doctors&reporters murdered and live streamed evidence on a minute by minute basis, nothing in human history compares.

Yet despite these horrors and a huge level of protests we can’t stop it. That frustration is causing a lot of PTSD and causes people to seek cult heroes out of desperation.

I run Greta Thunberg’s main web site and built it for her as a Christmas present because she is an honest raging B. I grew up with one, my older sister, and I think most societies like to see women come out of the “meek submissive” traditional roll and become enraged. It is a signal something is deathly wrong with a society.

I think that is why everyone loves seeing Madea Benjamin rip into political events. I think that’s why people love seeing Ana enraged about various topics.

Cenk once said his job is to get enraged on stage&while that may be attractive to many, I think pissed off women tend to get a higher social response.

In any case, while venting might help form cohesive movements, it doesn’t solve problems until the movement uses effective actions. Thus far, nothing has proven effective or kids wouldn’t be dying in Gaza and on the US border, and Americans wouldn’t be dying of healthcare and homeless issues.

Civil rights icon John Lewis said it best; “After 50 years it’s worse than it ever was.” With poverty, superstorms, droughts&mortality rates rising, along with angst and sleepless nights, as well as teen suicide rates, we’d better figure out how to get a grip on the global village that is spraying Earth with industrial scale Hazmat that has killed 50% of the biosphere in one human lifetime; a global catastrophe. We must get a grip on the technical killing machines humanity invented. Zbigniew Brzeziński said “It used to be it was easier to control a million people than to kill a million people. Now it’s easier to kill a million people than to control a million people.”

That reality, evidenced by a huge spike in police&military brutality&war crimes, rubber bullets, kevlar vests&tanks rolling through American cities&many cities overseas&arrests, as well as censorship means that an increasing number of humans will prematurely perish until we find the control levers to guide humanity through a very challenging period.

Some scientists suggest we will go through a Maltusian correction and 8 billion people might become 1 billion people in a mass die off. This will probably happen within the next 5 to 20 years. Heads up.

Some say the event will trigger Extinction of all life on Earth when over 400 nuclear power plants begin to malfunction, spewing ionizing radiation into the atmosphere and destroying our ozone. some say that the loss of insects will be our downfall. some say rising sea levels threatening to erase coastal communities and disrupt industrial capacity and supply chains will be the end of the modern civilization we know today.

I cannot predict what catastrophe(s) will cripple humanity beyond our ability to prevent billions of deaths. What I do believe is if citizens can find ways to force politicians to be honest and like medical doctors, create effective solutions and sane humane policies that is our best hope.

I already mentioned indicting politicians is one of the most effective ways of getting them to behave less like genocidal nut cases and more like caring effective social engineers. I also know only the threat of arrest will get a habitual felon to change their habits, and it only works some of the time. Many of them feel they are immune to prosecution and the election cycle is so long that they can create a great deal of damage in the years they are in office. Additionally, the corporate lobby money, AIPAC being a huge influence, as well as big Pharma and Oil Company money, and real estate investment funds buying up affordable housing, are all working together to destroy a sane civilized society. No sane society would be funding old toxic oil and gas habits when we could have cheaper power, water and fuel with Renewables. No sane 21st century society would allow Israel to erase Palestinians and steal their land, oil and gas.

A sane society would recognize that due to increasing droughts and civil unrest throughout Latin America, much of it we have created, but additionally, Rising wet bulb temperatures which kill crops and humans and impoverish people, are driving multiple species towards the cooler poles. the number of migrants arriving on the US border is a trickle compared to what it is going to be in a few years and unless we learn to sainly, humanely deal with that mass migration the only thing to stop them will be machine gun towers.

I view them as Americans and fellow Earthlings and believe we have a moral obligation to help them survive and thrive. This whole America First idea is rather childish on a planet that is collapsing on so many fronts.

I planned to ignore you, but now that you seem to want to take over this thread (given that your descriptions of the state of the world just keep coming), I have something I want to say in the hopes that you may find a compassionate approach in future.

When someone expresses emotional pain, personal and/or in relation to the world, it’s unhelpful to go into great detail about dying children and other horrors in the world. When someone is feeling suicidal, anything could be that final push. So, listening and understanding is advised. If you feel ill-equipped to offer that, that’s okay. Just don’t pile on the pain.

And when someone tries to encourage you to reconsider your approach, try giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Based on your replies and continued shares, I’m forming a picture of you in my mind, and it’s not flattering; whether you mean to or not, you are changing the tone of this thread.

You like reality and practical advice and facts… Super. I bet most of us TYT viewers do. But some of us also find strength in the “fluff.” All I ask is that you be more considerate of that fact and other people. That’s it.

So, congratulations on having such a strong mind, but in this thread, the “fluff” matters too.

Hi. I am NOT HERE to “take over this thread” as you allege. rather you say you don’t know what to do and that is an invitation for everybody and anybody to come and say listen we want to help you feel better about yourself and the future. If you don’t like the response to that kind of invitation seek private counseling. I like people who say the truth, who admit when they’re failing, who throw themselves into the loving arms of loving strangers and ask can you help me?

I assume 99% of the people who visit this TYT forum are loving people even if every one of us is capable of producing Bozo ideas. That means some ideas are going to be uncomfortable or impractical, or just painful.

That means some dialogues may sound rude even when offered in a loving spirit. I have been a bartender and worked in psych wards and hospitals and OBGYN clinics and emergency rooms, so sometimes you just got to bite the bullet and explain the truth so a patient or colleague move on to a better mental and physical state as quickly as possible. I’m sorry if that offends you, or you find it traumatizing, but we all care about you and I hope you care about me.

I did not find indications you are suicidal, and I would suggest to anyone who is that it is better to torture your enemies through political and legal challenges and online then give up and commit suicide. If you want help torturing jerks, whether they are politicians or felonious rogues on the net I was raised by a Jewish Librarian and mentored by a Federal Judge and clinical psychologist, so I am an expert at it. It’s actually quite fun watching a politician blow a cork when they realize they are about to get unelected. It’s even more fun when you watch them redeem themselves and grow an ethical bone, but that is a different discussion.

More importantly, I want you to feel free to insult me, critique me, tell me to f off, and then come back a week later and ask for help, because I don’t hold a grudge and I know everybody needs their space to reflect now and then. I want to give you hope and I believe that will come when all of us unite and do something effective.

The reason you are feeling so depressed is because nothing TYT has done so far is actually effective, yet TYT is the best shotgun in the game today, and that should worry us all. TYT has built a loving community, and that should Inspire us all. Now it is up to the community to take our power and create effective actions that don’t take months or years, but can literally flip politicians and entire governments like pancakes. I have done this in the past and when we work together we can do this quickly, almost effortlessly, and it really is a great deal of fun when done right. It’s got to be a lot more fun than languishing under the psychotic Nut Job nation in control of Washington DC today.

And P.S. to my prior reply. I logged out, thought about it and came back because I do care about you and your future and your emotional state.

First, You Are Not Alone.

Millions, if not hundreds of millions of Americans, if not billions of humans on Earth all feel like you do. We’ve lost control of our governments&corporations who have become murderously psychotic, delusional, out of touch with reality&the pulse of the people.

It’s not just po’folk. I live in a billion dollar community&just spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon with wealthy healthcare professionals sipping tequila overlooking the ocean. They have their views on politics&the future of America. I have mine. We found points of agreement&disagreement, but just like you&everyone else, they feel lost.

This mental confusion tends to cause people to retract into their protective structures to rethink their game plan. That’s a good place to go for a few minutes, days or weeks, but beyond that period, it becomes time to reach out&get help.

That doesn’t mean you follow every Bozo suggestion that comes along, but it does mean you will likely go thru 999 distasteful ideas to find one you like.

I suggest that once or twice a week you&I get together, either through this forum or a zoom chat or whatever is comfortable for you&we discuss your fears&capabilities, my fears&capabilities, our inadequacies, try not to spend too much time in the analytics phase&instead design something that might be fun&effective.

I have an old saying, if it’s not fun&not for profit don’t do it. I believe compersion is very fun; the ability to enjoy the success&joy of others. I believe few other activities help you live a happier, healthier, longer life. I believe few other activities help Earth&Humanity as much as putting a little rocket fuel in someone’s tennis shoes&watching them slam dunk.

Remember, one goal, one home run or touchdown does not win a game, but it can inspire a team. It can lift spirits&give your mind some small dopamine injections so you might see a tiny ray of light at the end of the tunnel&do it again&again&again.

I suggest retracting into protective quiet spaces for prolonged periods is unhealthy and by sharing our brain trust&hugging each other once in a while, or as my bull whip tongue older sister tends to do, smack friends on the back of the head&ask wtf?

You see I believe in you. I believe in your brain. I believe in your Bozo ideas, because I know that you have talent&are awesomely unique in your own way. I’m sure you say some stupid things now&then, because I do all the time. But what’s nice about the TYT forum is that 99% of the people who come here are loving souls who care about you. That’s the superpower of this website we can use to be open, honest, sometimes insulting, sometimes apologetic, sometimes critical&sometimes throw some high 5s. Few activities in life can be as rewarding as what we might create or find here.

A month later a post describing a common emotion of hopelessness has no action, zero, no words of encouragement, action plans, calls to unite, meet, nada, zero, zip.

This is why I waited…to see if anyone would show up. It is why.I wrote Ana and Cenk 100s of times since 2017 BEGGING to do a show where I might teach folks what I taught to battered women, molested kids, hardcore youth, homeless students and elders living in cars and bushes on HOW, the STEPS, to unite, form a support group, expand, form a co-op and together form a Village that helps everyone thrive a little better, easier, more joy.

They never replied once…too busy I guess. Over worked underpaid focused on projects they’ve got, the idea of doing a segment to unite MILLIONS of people is, at this time, of no interest here. Someday someone pass on 650-241-9046 and hopefully they’ll find the time before all life on Earth goes extinct; our current path.

I’ve reached out to some of the hosts about specific issues as well, but I can’t fault them for not responding. My life has been inundated with mental illness and the suffering that comes with it, and you’re right that it is a problem that affects hundreds of millions of Americans. The TYT hosts are having to track, verify, thoroughly understand and then report on the issues they present to us daily.

This community is a diverse group, and it’s important for people to be comfortable in sharing their ideas. I’ve watched many discussions break down into debates that serve no purpose and don’t reflect on the initial substance, even resulting in some great community members not being here anymore.

When @cerberusalphagaming posted this thread I reached out personally, and although he was feeling pressed by this culture of disregard he was holding it together. I don’t have any other way to help him since I’m poor and live 2000 miles away, so I am concerned that I’ve no longer seen him active and haven’t been able to get a response. If anyone has, please let us know, TYT needs everyone to know that they’re heard and they matter, even if the network can’t take on new projects or causes.
