The EU was just discussing doing trade sanctions against Israel, to rein in their militaristic adventures. It is being held up by -get this- objections to the statement by some EU members that Israel is an “apartheid state”.
Indiscriminate civilian bombings, sharpshooters killing minors, amputations, having dogs rape prisoners -it’s NOT an apartheid state?! Perhaps those members need to be sent on a tour of Gaza camps!
I hope the EU suffers the full weight of skyrocketing fuel prices due to their continued inaction. News flash to the CNBC crew: those high prices will be coming. Do you see an off-ramp to the OCCUPATION of Lebanon by Israel forming??
Update: the peace agreement is off (AGAIN, of course…) after Iran paused it because of Israel’s continued strikes in Lebanon. Who knows how to parse the logic of a clearly insane man, but was Trump thinking the Iranians would overlook Lebanon, being so close to a peace agrreementl??
Now that Italy is on board with santioning Israel, we have one majory obstacle remaining:
GERMANY!
Yo, Germany: just because people of your country once perpetrated a holocaust, does not give Israel a blank check to perpetrate one right now on others!
It’s a start, I guess; a shot-off-the-bow approach. But the sanctions should be brought to bear on Israel itself, who enables these freaks and has been the culprit to escalating gas prices that is affecting the EU now.
