Bernie: I don’t think you realize how serious this is.
To make any change, you have to get like-minded Congress people who are focused on working class issues and are not betrothen to corporate ownership.
Have you seen the recent DNC meetings? Where they spend 10 minutes to go over adjectives?? (link) They blocked AOC from a leadership position! So what now? The pendulum swing?? Just like the corporate owners of the DNC had plotted for?!
I screamed repeatedly here for you to form an alliance with a committee of trusted former campaign workers, to vet Independent candidates to run for the cause of workers (ballot by petition, Independent slate…), which is not represented by EITHER party. You don’t have to run it in perpetuity; just pick the committee, vote when the committee does, and give an occasional speech.
Now we have the added complication that the Repubs will shut down through criminal means even THAT option of fielding an Independent alliance!
So what’s your game plan, by NOT calling for core worker issues to align around? A series of protests and strikes, for these wanna-be Nazis to have an excuse to quash the 2026 election??
Sigh.
If you are not going to call for a committee to safeguard against a dilution of what is being fought for -worker issues- I give up! Enjoy the ballroom dancing at the next Dem confab…
He has to form a committee, so when somebody wants to run in the alliance and then works counter to its core working class objectives, they get bounced out. Otherwise you will have infiltration and dilution funded by corporations and oligarchs to bring it down, leading to voters throwing up their hands at the effort…
This is why I believe protests and strikes won’t be enough. You hear the cult members in that crowd. I say: cut them loose; we need to start a partition by States. We can’t deprogram them all; and we can’t let them destroy what has been built. Let them live with the consequences of their actions, and let’s preserve a rule of law in States where we choose by referendum.
OK, we have two possible outcomes you are suggesting here, Bernie, ABSENT YOUR ESTABLISHING AN INDEPENDENT [NON-DEM] ALLIANCE: storm the White House and form a new government; or WAIT (while destruction is continuing to be done, sanctioned by the DOJ et.al.) until the midterms and then go back to the Dem Party voting -pendulum swing of the corporate proxies. You know the Dem Party, don’t you Bernie? The one owned by corporations?? How can I say that? You better believe Harris would have offered more to working people if they didn’t say no!!
If a corporatist like Warren Buffet is saying Trump 2.0 is not going to work, you better believe the corporations have fucked up in their greedy choice to not give the Dems anything to offer working people…
