Just watched Johns segment on Graham Platner and I have to comment. Let me start by saying that I love John and his show. However, in my humble opinion, his position on Graham Platner is emblematic of the biggest issue we Progressives face. We continue to play fair and remain consistent, while our country is being actively consumed by insidious forces. This is not a drill, guys. Look around at what “they” are doing to “us”. What they are doing to Platner is a trick and we all know it. Are we saying that only the most pure of heart can represent us? Only men and women who have NEVER had one single moment they are not proud of? This is her word against his and that is it. She didnt tell her therapist about it, when it happened? Why the fuck not? Do we know the details of their mutual sexual history and proclivities? I have really bad news for all the virtuous Progressives who refuse to even slightly jeopardize “consistency”. Our sitting POTUS is a fucking child rapist and human trafficker!!! LISTEN UP FOLKS, FIGHTERS WILL HAVE MOMENTS, IN THEIR PAST, THEY ARE NOT PROUD OF. Are we saying anyone who has ever had a super bad night does not deserve to represent us? I KNOW this guy is for real BECAUSE of this oppo research. They dont bother to dig this hard, unless the person is a real threat. Are we saying the word of this completely unknown woman, from Grahams past, is enough to help derail our efforts to thwart an existential threat? This is not a game guys and sometimes it takes sketchy people to defeat truly horrible monsters. The kind of people we need, to win this fight, are not gonna be angels. We ALL KNOW, if you pressed anyone hard enough you would find dirt. We keep playing by the rules and CRYING when we find out there IS NO REFEREE!!! When do we say enough is enough? The only perfect angels are the candidates who have been groomed, by donors, to take office. Even they are, likely, not perfect BUT THE ESTABLISHMENT WILL NOT ALLOW AN INVESTIGATION. Both parties are in alignment on this strategy, too. Consistency will not save us John. If we are all judged by our worst day, well then we are all fucked. We need fighters not angels. Oh and if anyone bothers to read this, please dont come at me with silliness like suggesting I support rape, etc. Yes, I understand all the statistics on rape and its reporting, etc. Yes, I know its a problem and I, myself, have never had that particular problem. I have had others that would disqualify me, in this political environment, from holding office. However, what I can tell you is, if I was in the game and in federal office, I would ENJOY the fight and I would represent my people. That is a stone fact and something tells me its a fact about Graham. So, yeah, this will fall on deaf ears and when the fascist finally take over, well, at least we will have been principled and consistent. Congratulations? Guys, we are fighting true evil whether you want to accept that or not.
The fact Tucker Carlson has spent more time standing up for Graham thn most people in progressive media is so disillusioning.
Graham was someone who could actually bring a lot of people right and center over. I really just don’t understand how anyone could take that ladies claim seriously after her texts came out and she was shown to have lied about not asking graham to come over. Plus In what world would a women who had a man break into her home and rape her tell her friend who was trying to date her rapist that he is a good guy while only complaining about the amount of sexual partners he had.
Turns out that it was politico who concealed that fact; not her. But it was bad the way she WAITED to make a stink!
I stand by my original assessment; she believes she got raped. By being blackout drunk when he visited and supposedly did not regard her no’s was a case of contributory negligence on Platner’s part. Given the Epstein files, it was not going to be worth fighting over it -the Left wants a strong message of no tolerance for sexual abuse, so that the Grand Old Psycho Party can’t then do its whataboutism thing.
Jackson is a fine candidate; he just has to go on the attack more: on income inequality, on AI recklessness (NO FUCKING BAILOUTS!), on Israel trying to subjugate the US defense…

If your friend was asking about trying to date the man who broke into your house and raped you no one in their right mind would call their rapist charming and decent while complaining that he slept with too many other women. She continued seeing him after he supposedly broke into her house and raped her as well. Her texts made it seem like her biggest issue was how many sexual partners he had.

Tucker Carlson called it out a while ago, look at Troy’s campaign, it is made up of Biden/aipac agents now. His campaign manager is tied to chuck Schumer and he is using prominent pro Israel dem fundraisers. Yesterday Troy wouldn’t even say he would cut Israel’s military aid in the debate.

I clearly don’t think his debate answer on Israel was the best he could have given; but it’s enough to get him to win and replace Collins, who will clearly give Israel First a blank check. The debate over what constitutes defensive or offensive is an obtuse one.
The question I would have wanted to see was: what do you think of the NDAA? (the merging of the militaries; being that it was a Fox affiliate hosting that debate, no surprise there that it was not asked!) I know Collins would have gone: what’s not to like? I know what Platner’s position would have been. If Jackson does not give an “over my dead body” answer on that, then I will agree: he has become co-opted by Israel First.
Let’s see what he says in the remaining weeks. I am sure he has gotten an earful for having not spoken more strongly on Israel on that debate question. Tying Collins to Netanyahoo was a deft move…
Maybe you are right. I just learned my lesson from trump and the republicans that words are meaningless. The best way to learn what a candidate is about is who funds and is surrounding their campaign and in Troy’s case it doesn’t look good in both cases.
I’m pretty much a single issue voter on Israel now out of principle and so are a lot of other younger right wingers. 60% of right wingers under 49 are anti Israel now and the level of actual extreme hatred of Israel I have seen in my college republicans since the last year is unreal.
Someone like Troy won’t get our votes but someone like Graham or even el sayad would have. I’m not gonna vote for a dem unless I really believe they are actually gonna fight to oppose the Zionist occupation of our gov. Wtf is even the point of what he is doing? It just seems politically stupid. No evangelical Zionist is gonna support Troy anyway, the majority is against Israel now so who is he trying to appeal to by fence sitting on this issue?
