Just watched Johns segment on Graham Platner and I have to comment. Let me start by saying that I love John and his show. However, in my humble opinion, his position on Graham Platner is emblematic of the biggest issue we Progressives face. We continue to play fair and remain consistent, while our country is being actively consumed by insidious forces. This is not a drill, guys. Look around at what “they” are doing to “us”. What they are doing to Platner is a trick and we all know it. Are we saying that only the most pure of heart can represent us? Only men and women who have NEVER had one single moment they are not proud of? This is her word against his and that is it. She didnt tell her therapist about it, when it happened? Why the fuck not? Do we know the details of their mutual sexual history and proclivities? I have really bad news for all the virtuous Progressives who refuse to even slightly jeopardize “consistency”. Our sitting POTUS is a fucking child rapist and human trafficker!!! LISTEN UP FOLKS, FIGHTERS WILL HAVE MOMENTS, IN THEIR PAST, THEY ARE NOT PROUD OF. Are we saying anyone who has ever had a super bad night does not deserve to represent us? I KNOW this guy is for real BECAUSE of this oppo research. They dont bother to dig this hard, unless the person is a real threat. Are we saying the word of this completely unknown woman, from Grahams past, is enough to help derail our efforts to thwart an existential threat? This is not a game guys and sometimes it takes sketchy people to defeat truly horrible monsters. The kind of people we need, to win this fight, are not gonna be angels. We ALL KNOW, if you pressed anyone hard enough you would find dirt. We keep playing by the rules and CRYING when we find out there IS NO REFEREE!!! When do we say enough is enough? The only perfect angels are the candidates who have been groomed, by donors, to take office. Even they are, likely, not perfect BUT THE ESTABLISHMENT WILL NOT ALLOW AN INVESTIGATION. Both parties are in alignment on this strategy, too. Consistency will not save us John. If we are all judged by our worst day, well then we are all fucked. We need fighters not angels. Oh and if anyone bothers to read this, please dont come at me with silliness like suggesting I support rape, etc. Yes, I understand all the statistics on rape and its reporting, etc. Yes, I know its a problem and I, myself, have never had that particular problem. I have had others that would disqualify me, in this political environment, from holding office. However, what I can tell you is, if I was in the game and in federal office, I would ENJOY the fight and I would represent my people. That is a stone fact and something tells me its a fact about Graham. So, yeah, this will fall on deaf ears and when the fascist finally take over, well, at least we will have been principled and consistent. Congratulations? Guys, we are fighting true evil whether you want to accept that or not.
