I am looking to get involved in my hometown to get more or any progressives elected to our city council or school boards. I have never really gotten involved in local politics but lately have started to understand the importance of being engaged on both local as well as national politics. Anyone have any recommendations on how to go about this?

I think organic discussions should be held locally if possible. This would help other learn team building and leadership in a like minded environment. We need to practice team lobbying through persuasion, public speaking, and leadership.
The 3rd spaces where often a club hosted event. There were at one time many who were members of clubs like: Kiwanis - Wikipedia
We need organic community building then leaders will present themselves.
