Here's a way to bring more people in

So I started watching TYT after a clip of Anna going off on the religious folk from long time ago. Immediately I was like “she gets it…let’s see what show she has”.

One of the issues when I discuss getting my news from TYT is that I don’t have specific clips to show someone about a specific topic if I think they can relate. My suggestion is to have TYT make 5 minute clips about specific topics that explain TYT views on it. That way if I sense there’s a topic that could help someone and pique their interest i could just send them the link. Trying to find the topics in the past segments is impossible due to the sheer amount of content, if it’s not saved. The topics need to be encompass all aspects of the show and unique takes on issues that sets TYT apart from most. An example topic would be showing how main stream media loves the conflict so they can keep their jobs.

Anyway…I think it’d be good to be able to give a link to someone about a topic directly and from TYT point of view.

Thoughts?

Edit add: TYT showed me it’s ok to get angry at the left. I wasn’t aware of all of their inaction before. Things like that.

I too have been trying to figure out the best way to pique interest. I love this idea!

I would check the TYT TIk Tok accounts for videos and there are also show clips that are posted in the TYT YouTube Channels after each show, The videos from RebelHQ, TheBreakdown, TYTInvestigates, The Watchlist, and also TYTSports over in Youtube. You can get alerts when new videos go up over in the TYT Discord too

David Shuster does some Rebel HQ clips that could be what your looking for.

David is really great at honoring decorum and ethics. I think he could help win over more moderately minded voters.

I am not sure they are going to be receptive to the message, especially if it is to blunt.

I Love David Shuster- I’ve been watching him since The Gulf War. He’s compassionate, intelligent, well informed, and also happens to be hilarious!! He’d be extremely difficult not to like- or at least listen to, imo.

I am a Progressive Christian. I believe the majority of members of the world wide empire of false religion are good. They are simply being programmed and polarized by an energetic life form for its own maniacal purposes

The majority of religious people are attempting to worship and emulate the the benign nature of the God or Savior they envision that entity to be.

I applaud and appreciate the humanitarian work that people of all religions do; regardless of their spiritual beliefs

I also respect the beliefs of the atheist. Due to the stupidity of religious dogmas they have given up their spirituality beliefs.

I encourage all humanitarians to embrace and practice the principals of Agape regardless of their fellow beings race, beliefs, sexual or gender orientation.

I am not sure which religions would be false. I can say that regions generally have good teachings. If you follow any of the main stream teachings I am familiar without fixation and fanaticism you would be fine.

In my opinion the organization around the religion is the part that carries wisdom, along side the ilk of the corruption that haunts concentrations of power.

@quantumentangled I really like your idea of bite-sized videos explaining certain topics. They may already exist but it would be nice to have them in a separate library or playlist on the channels that can be easily accessed for reaching out to people.

I am religious as some other people have commented on this thread. I even served a mission for my church. We had a library of videos we would look at before a lesson and see if we could show a video beforehand to introduce the topic and inspire some conversation and learning around it. I think something similar would be really helpful as we are trying to reach out and spread the word about the progressive movement.

@enduser I agree, where some of the videos may already exist it would be nice to have some that are created directly targeting a non-progressive audience that will have a gentler lead-in. In education we have to think about our audience and where they are at with their learning. It has to be a little of what they already know and a little more to draw out conversation. If they were made with that type of audience in mind, I think those videos would be really powerful.

It would be nice if it were made specifically for the topics in a nice arranged list. Then it’s easy on everyone. Then I’d just have to give 1 link. And they just scan a quick list of topics and select one that intrigues them. Example:

First and Foremost, Why TYT over cable news? We got you!
It’s ok to get angry at your side if what they do is wrong!
Class Warfare vs Culture Warfare
Why aren’t more progressives in Congress?
What do progressives stand for vs other political classes?
Here are some fucking awesome things Progressives have done for all!
Here are some progressive things that 75% of your fellow Americans want too!
Gerrymandered maps need to go and here’s why.
Examples of how money put back into societal programs gives back to the community in real life metrics.
Their Oil? Nah, fam. YOUR OIL! Give their profits back to the people and see how much faster they’d go to electric. Here’s what you can do.
Here’s how to fix a system where a president gets elected even though he loses the popular vote.
Out of control huge corporations are the true divider in this country.

Those are just some off the wall examples real quick. There are major moments watching the shows where I’m like “Huh…I never thought of it that way until watching the show” and those moments are when Genk (usually…love ya brother) or whoever is explaining the TYT side of it. I just think because it’s TYT it should be somewhere on the TYT website in a simple list to choose from. The videos are specific to a topic only, are personalized.

For example…how about instead of the usual person at a desk talking about something…ALL of the TYT hosts are sitting around a couple couches or outside and chit chatting about the topic, maybe 5-10 minutes. You’re not going to out logic someone with stated facts when emotion needs to play into it as well. And as Americans, the majority of the masses like reality shows, so why not make it look more like that? Who can’t relate to a few people hanging around talking about something interesting in a natural setting way. Now, making it a balance of hard truth, comedic, festive, and interesting…well, that’s for smarter people than me to figure out.

But I do feel deep down that this would be a simple an unique way to introduce someone to TYT. Keep in mind all, that without context, they initially view TYT hosts when they rage almost the same way we see Alex Jones and about the same amount of trust and respect that we show Jessie Waters.

Hi @mrobvious! I’m a Progressive Christian too! There is another thread about how to reach out to Conservative Christians Reaching Out to Conservative Christians

I’d love to see what you think of the proposal to make an ad campaign directed at Conservative Christians using their own lens, perspective, scripture, etc… to speak to them about progressive ideas.

I like his views so much, I give him a pass on being a Michigan fan.
