What the hell is going on in Louisiana this week ? A mass shooting happened today { April 23 } in Baton Rouge , the Mall of Louisiana. On April 19 , 8 children were killed in Shreveport with 2 adults critically injured. This was a familicide. Today , I also found out that law enforcement tracked down a suspect wanting to commit mass murder at the Jazz Festival, which opens today. This is insane. We’ve already endured a mass casualty on New Years Day ,2025 . The fraying of society is exasperated by no relief coming from social programs and everyday prices going through the roof. This shit has to stop. We simply cannot coexist like this, it’s impossible. I’m in a republican run state which means there are not going to be viable solutions there, just gaslighting and incriminations. I don’t have solutions, but writing down these thoughts helps me deal with an unstable world. Thank you, Jack Callahan
Well, like the Onion says:
What are other countries doing differently? Not making it too easy to have access to a gun. Not enabling semi-automatics and large capacity magazines (like the firearms bill in the 90s did -but hey: we need our guns to stop the Deep State takeover!), so when somebody does whack out, at least the kill rate is much lower.
A “well regulated militia” does not imply making guns as easy to access as a bag of chips in a vending machine…
Yes , you’re right, we used to have a ban on assault weapons for years, but the Republicans moaned that it interferes with their death cult. Absurd. Jack Callahan
Trump says shooter apprehended as White House correspondents’ dinner is evacuated
Answer to Trumpkins when they INEVITABLY play the victim card over tonight’s shooting:
“Where is out Assault Weapons Ban? Who took that away from us?? Why? -what’s that? To stop ‘The Deep State’?!”
“Well-regulated militia…”, ladies and gentlemen.
It will be interesting to see if reporters at press conferences with Trump bite back hard when the admin claims pointed questions are out of order given this shooting. I mean, hell -MAYBE a 48 hour honeymoon, at best…
