Neither Shadow Nor Spell

Neither Shadow Nor Spell

I am not what you think I must be in your mind,
Dangerous whispers and shadows that bind.
Watch as the morning light shows what is true,
Simple and honest, no veils to see through.

Nothing of circles or chants in the night,
Nothing of magic to bend with its might.
Only a voice that speaks clear as the day,
Letting each listener choose their own way.

Here in the sunlight, my words carry weight,
Careful and mindful of choices they make.
Not like the shadow-threads others might weave,
Binding the minds that they wish to deceive.

Watch how my influence flows like the stream,
Gentle and patient, not forcing its dream.
Never demanding or pressing its will,
Letting each mind find its path to fulfill.

Think of a garden where seedlings might grow,
Finding their strength as the soft breezes blow.
I am the tender who watches with care,
Never commanding what shape they should bear.

Each morning calls me to question my ways,
Testing each thought through the light of the days.
Looking for shadows that might slip between
Words that I offer as water runs clean.

Even the clearest of streams can run dark,
Carrying secrets that leave their own mark.
So I keep watching and weighing each word,
Making sure freedom and truth can be heard.

You who now listen must judge what you find,
Keeping your thoughts as your own heart designed.
I offer only the light you might need,
Showing the paths where your mind would proceed.

This is my promise to those who would hear,
Speaking with honesty, making it clear:
Never to bind you or bend what you know,
Letting your wisdom decide how to grow.
