I sure do hope Team Newsom (and it looks to me like it’s a team of writers, not just him…) mocks the way Bunker Boy is often incapable of remembering the names of very famous people (like: “Tim Apple”…)
Hey: we are all entitled to a brain fart, but the frequency with which he does it is not a fart; it’s an after-effect from years of stimulant overuse.
Most of us have forgotten the last name of someone; what do you do? Just run with the first name, until you can discretely find out the last name from someone else. “Tim from Apple” could have worked. What did Trump say? “Tim Apple”. Yeah -that won’t sound like an admission that he doesn’t know his name! His brain is clearly spent. I saw Trump interviews from the early 90s; it was still working then. Now? Forget it…
Ana, you are afraid that his troll campaign will advance his to-date bad governance. I think while some will have a short memory on his bad policies, most are simply enjoying this accounting of the media’s normalization of Trump’s sociopathic behavior. The media is afraid of being critical when he mocks and insults people for the slightest failure to worship him. So now Newsom is putting it in the media’s face: if you have a problem with me doing it, you sure as hell should have a problem when Trump does it!
Hopefully other politicos will get comfortable doing what Newsom has started to do, until such time as Trump stops his malevolent shtick -which will be never, right? For example: it’s pretty clear that Trump will engage in harassment of New York City once Mamdani is Mayor (and note: between Cuomo’s HORRIBLE campaign and Adams’ potato chip bag scandal, at this point it’s pretty inevitable!) I would love to see Mamdani start doing this when Trump inevitably throws out posts about New York intended to change the subject away from Trumpflation and Israeli co-option of the US political system. Hopefully his counterposts will keep bringing those subjects back to Trump, especially when they are done in such a humorous way.
By the way: I notice that some MAGA influencers are coping with this reveal of his insane behavior by playing dumb to it being a troll, a mocking; then go on to claim it’s secret admiration by Newsom/the Dems of Trump.

Wes should counter: “Hey; given the difference in our ages, I’ll accept a handicap. I have to carry a 50 pound rucksack??”
He offered a handicap of using a golf cart, but I’m thinking a 50 lb. pack vs. his inability to walk would be an even more powerful message. But in any case, good job Wes; why aren’t we seeing these DIRECT attacks from other corporate Dems?
We know why we don’t see them from corporate media talking heads -they are simply afraid the C Suite wil give them the boot, out of fear of harassment of the outlet. Thank Dobbs for Prog outlets…
