To anyone asking: “what was the point” of No Kings:
One of the points was to put to bed the lie sold by the Repubs that so many Americans love Trump.
Another point is for when other countries ask: “how can so many Americans support such a dick?”, this march was an answer to them: WE DON’T! Look at all those people in the streets. To them I say: we apologize: our two party system failed us bigtime (tthe Repubs got completely co-opted by thugs, and the Dems REFUSED to hold an Open Convention when Biden stepped down, so we could have picked a tenable candidate and voters could have said they had a stake in the choice -yes, it’s hard to believe the Dem Party did that!)
So America is living its post-Weimar Germany moment, but thankfully our Nazis are just a bunch of very incompetent boobs (as opposed to capable and dangerous men…) This too shall pass.
The question now is: will an America founded on the ideals of the Enlightenment pass along with it?
