Operation Hope Begins!

Right now, one problem I am seeing is that nationally, statewide and on local levels, there are several different organizations all trying to combat the extremism and disinformation. Working very hard in their groups but there seems to be some type of competition? I know fundraising is somewhat behind this organization “competitiveness” but if we all just worked together instead of little groups here and over there, we could really bring some change and do something great. Our young generation is where it’s at. 16-25 year olds have a different energy and determination that fuels my hope. We have to engage these younger, passionate people and get them involved.

I have the same issue as harpy. I live in a red state (Kansas) and writing to my representative or Senator would be a useless endeavor. I wrote to one of them about another issue and only managed to get myself a form letter response about how “here for me” they are, as well as on their extremely active campaign mailing list. I would like something I could do that would feel like it would actually do some good.

Cenk, you mentioned that everyone contacted Berney Sanders about putting the 15 dollar min wage to a vote. Would sending Ro a letter as a group, to reinforce that we are here and want this at least help him to remaining firm in his commitment to help us?

I found you guys during the pandemic through my Utube TV app. Now, I know im not a total wiz at the internet, but im also not a complete newbie to how stuff works. I’ve been trying to tell friends and family about you guys but no one can seem to find the full shows i see on Utube TV on regular Utube. All that comes up are clips of your various shows. I dont understand why its so difficult to bring up your full shows on Utube. Help me spread the word guys!!

Not only revealing what they said they would do vs what they actually do, but also how they vote on every single issue.

I lived in North Carolina for a few years and i sent letters to my state reps relentlessly knowing it would do little good. My reasoning behind it was hopefully one or two other people like me have sent them similar letters. I knew it wouldn’t amount to much overall but i felt it was important to plant the seed. Let them know we are here.We cannot remain silent anymore. Silence is what got us in this F’d up place in the first place.

Cenk, when’s the last you spoke to Tom Morello? He might have a few ideas.

hitler had portraits of henry satan ford, got howda treat Jews by how murikkka treated the People who built this country for half a millenium, n it’s still a crime to be Black. Why hitler built Volkswagen. Even jim crow jr. henry satan ford wanted to pay his yt workers a living wage. ford shareholders sued him into the ground tho. The slave holders, wallstreet built off the slave auction block stocks n bonds livestock in bondage. Thus the blueprint for modern day corporate greed. And the buckley 76 ruling didn’t help yeah. divided corporate states of murikkka.

It’s all relevant. After ww2 many nazi came to the murikkkas why when we see an insurrection coup to overthrow Democracy, the one time in modern history they counted the popular vote and we had a Democratic election. Why the same exact thing verbatim complete with nazi n alt right, happen in South America, after Lula, even down to a qanon shaman, except they held balls on arrow accountable.

  1. Identify future moments, events, inclusive of a large majority of viewers, participants, etc… (Holidays, Sport Championships, Spring Break, poplular gadget or hollywood launches)
  2. Identify key moments within those events when viewers, participants are most active/ open to outside influence (shopping for the big game, black friday, when social media traffic is high)
  3. Pick one topic (PFLeave) and come up with a common design / logo / phrase we’ll all be using. It’s gotta be f’n cool.
  4. Create a video to help TyT-ans how to write about topics without infuriating and closing off their uninformed family and friends.
  5. Schedule launches so everyone is posting on the same day during opportune times for their time zone.
  6. Predict and prepare for multiple scenarios where social media algorithms will identify our launch and suppress it. Prevention and circumvention will be the game. As they adapt to supress, we identify the criteria they are using, make those changes to our message, and f’n swing again. Launches should have separate waves for this purpose.
  7. Identify next steps after a launch before the launch. How do we not f up a wave if we create one, be prepared for both stepping back and moving forward. Have allies ready to pounce publicly if the time is right.
  8. Rinse and Repeat

Greetings. I’m severly at the end of my rope. As much as I hate corporations, it was the diversity of culture in this 70,000 plus corporation that nugged me to be a progressive. It was working with every type of everybody on different teams accomplishing together almost anything we set out to. Now back home in LA (no not CA LA), it’s back to the whole “if something is poorly engineered then is was done by a black person” culture. UGHGHGHGHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Let’s do this!!

Every major city

  1. canvass for your running mini van style maybe, see how many plan on voting, and just remind people about voting, registering… and that you’re on it, and that we’re really fighting for PFL.
  2. if someone has liberal stuff or is progressive in any way, remind them… end the filibuster, expand the court, codify the rights we had before
  3. remind people we’re for affordable housing, healthcare, education, transportation, childcare, women’s reproductive healthcare, common sense gun safety and voting rights.
  4. have tyt members get a bunch of seats at the next chiefs game. If any are by Taylor Swift, give her a copy of “Justice Is Coming”. Travis Kelce looks exactly like my cousin. It’s really wierd.
  5. see if Killer Mike, TI and Rage Against the Machine would do a concert during the next rnc.
  6. hold a debate tween Cornell West, Bernie, Nina and Cenk on whatever chanel the Rho Khanna interview was on.

I have a pretty “simple” idea, I’ve always wanted to do if I came into a little money. Perhaps a group of good Samaritan in this group that happen to be App developers can co-op on. – Develop an app (even rudimentary) that is basically Groupon for civil change.

It would work like this:
Problem: NAME POLITICAL ISSUE
Name: Dark Money Contributor to the Issue
App Users: Sign onto the cause to boycott or strike an issue
Resolve: Legislative change we want for the strike/boycott to end

Like Groupon once enough users sign onto an issue “the boycott or strike is on”

(Push notifications will be key to execution)

Our biggest issue in America is our inability to QUICKLY collectivize in an organized and effective way.

In France there will be a social issue and that day half the country is walking off the job. Or the workers at the electric company are taking it upon themselves to cut the power to politicians homes/buildings :joy:

We’re all too afraid here. But there is comfort in numbers. If the app actually showed there are 5000 ppl from your area code that are striking right now and 1 million nationwide that is fuel for change. Spell it out for people… example: we’re all boycotting Procter & Gamble products at the grocery store bc they donate in excess to X, Y, Z. People will want to be apart of the cause.

The beauty of this is mass people striking across multiple industries would quickly effect the corporate overlords bottom line. We need to hold the purse strings. Take back power.

It would be remarkable to get a notification that says 30% of workers at XYZ Bank, (your employer), 10% at Big Box Chain, and 60% in the healthcare section have signed onto a strike for paid family leave. Join them!

Even better: Teachers collectivizing and striking until they get higher wages and gun reform so they can have a safe work environment.

They can’t fire everyone, there is power in numbers. You just have to show people they are not alone in a cause and that their efforts aren’t haphazard. Efforts have to be tied directly to someones financial interest. (Donors–>Congress)

Yes!! Boycotts are a great tool. They are unfortunately stiffled by the bigger corporate perveyors of information. Our effectiveness is completely dependent upon the spread of information. I’ve been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for that critical mass of civilians to take the next step into human evolution by acknowledging our predjudices and fears so we can prevent predjudice that precipitates support for disgusting oppressive policy… but i’ll settle for civilians abandoning main street media

:100:! It would be amazing if after all of Fox News lawsuits some legislative reform came about requiring “truth in journalism”. Both sides are corporate mouth pieces and propaganda networks. I know that’s not going to happen but we can dream. Lol - At least TYT viewers know better.

It would be a great cause for the app idea though. This many million viewers are boycotting a channel until legislative reform News/journalism reporting.

I just want to say that this is the first time in a long time that I have felt meaning and hope in my life. Operation Hope is already warming my heart and it has barely even started.

Thank you for this, Cenk. Between this and your potential run for president… You and TYT have already touched my life with hope in deep way beyond my ability to express without the use of poetry and dactylic hexameter. And I think I will spare you that.

TYT does a nationwide tour to all the governor offices and speak about their efforts and call out if the state representatives support the bills that want passed and talk about what the state voteres actually want

This is the most popular topic of this whole f the forum. I will be preagmatic and invite you to:

Thanks for your attention!

I like this idea. If there was a grass roots protest app for progressives we could also list companies that don’t provide proper rights, benefits or wages to their employees. Encouraging people to avoid doing business with these companies until they meet our progressive standards. With billions of views a month, that’s gotta have a palpable effect on the corporate zealots profit margins.

TS would be a good idea. She’d likely support the whole movement. Would need to contact her. She seems to be progressive. I can’t believe the amount of power and influence she wields.

I will be honest. I live in a hard core republican area. I’d be worried I’d get shot for knocking on peoples doors to talk about the issues and I’m a progressive. They act like we will eat them. Just saying. Don’t get me wrong, you are right, it’s exactly whats needed. But reality.

Loved this!

I especially wondered how my Representative, Eric Swalwell would answer the question about what his day looks like since he’s been kicked off committees. Maybe he has some extra time to assert his progressive cred! Doing more of these interviews, with more strategically chosen Reps and Senators would be useful to get them on record!

Tried signing in on another browser from Chrome, and just could not interact at all, it kept wanting me to re-authenticate, but not accepting what I input. Chrome often takes forever to load for me - presumably loading ads. Wasn’t sure how to let you know any other way.

I knocked doors for Bernie in Republican territory in Nevada and can relate, Moiraesfate. It is get caught trying, not get shot trying!

One thing I am doing that requires less bravery is to put Justice Is Coming in the little free libraries in my neighborhood. Another strategy could be to write something on one of the pages to those who pick it up to read it.

That’s brave of you. Knocking on doors for Bernie in a red territory, I mean.
