Pretty severe Chabad and Israeli Shennanigans for some time now in Thailand

edit 2026-09-11:

this recently published story gives a much better idea (that I was struggling to provide) of the types of shennanigans that we’re talking about.

“…The protest follows months of complaints about illegal landholding, disrespect towards local culture and proliferation of religious houses for Israelis, echoing those made by some locals in the Philippines and Sri Lanka. …”

“…In a country with hair-trigger sensitivities over sovereignty, allegations that swathes of prime Thai land have been sold illegally to Israelis have raised uproar. Disputes between Thais and Israelis – mainly on the islands of Phangan and Samui and the mountain retreat of Pai – over non-payment of bills, public misbehaviour and pro-Palestine flags at some Thai businesses have gone viral, adding to the tensions…”

Some folks might cast a sideways glance at “South China Morning Post” as a news source, and I don’t know much about them, but afaik, this story is on the mark, and even shows a little awareness at the end of the co-mingling of anti-Jewishness and anti-Israel views by protestors.

edited original post from about a week earlier:

A contact has been helping me follow this for some time. (It’s not something that I’ve ever seen show up in the US press) but the Israelis behave so badly in Thailand that the Thai authorities have been beside themselves to figure out what to do about it. “Behaving badly” is hard for me to define as I have not kept good receipts on the articles I’ve read. These reports are not confined to Thailand, and I question some of them, as they make it difficult to track down which media organization is issuing them in some cases. However, it appears that vacationing IDF and other Israelis are going to Thailand and other places and skirting the laws.

This is the latest I’ve seen for which I can find a non-facebook link:

Jewish New Year Event draws scrutiny in Phuket

Weinstein’s lawyer David Boies was using Mossad.

David Carradine was found in a closet while on vacation in Thailand. It was alleged to be auto-asphyxiation. My guess: Mossad made it to look like that.

Carradine had a grudge with Weinstein over treatment of Uma Thurman (on the set of Kill Bill?) My guess: Weinstein arranged it, to denigrate Carradine’s image…

While this theory is I suppose slightly interesting, I think it distracts from the main point here. The main point is that Israelis have just generally been behaving so badly in much more mundane ways that they arguably are violating the local laws to the point of needing to be reprimanded, expelled or banned in the eyes of some people. It’s hard for me to define “behaving badly”, but I’m somewhat educated-guessing this includes parties where illegal activity might occur, disrespectful noise, business practices (pressure tactics to sell properties to them?), etc. Part of the reason I think this would be potentially fertile ground for TYT researchers is that TYT has established itself as one of the media organizations exposing and analyzing the worst of what Israel is doing around the world. Also, TYT shows decent judgment (in my opinion) when it does this, because it is not easy to do this sort of research while simultaneously having to sift through decent amounts of actual anti-Jewish (anti-semitic) bigotry. Separating the anti-Jewish irrational hysteria from the actual Israeli vile transgressions can take time-consuming work.

I edited the original post, and will also add here in the replies, to include this latest story which came out yesterday. I was struggling to define “shennanigans” but this link provides a better idea:

a couple of quotes that go to the heart of the matter:

“…The protest follows months of complaints about illegal landholding, disrespect towards local culture and proliferation of religious houses for Israelis, echoing those made by some locals in the Philippines and Sri Lanka…”
