Project: Kids of Palestine

I heard Cenk talk about starting a Children of Gaza website project. As a 30+ year web designer & developer with list of experience in accessibility, performance, sites that work across a variety of devices, etc. I have a lot of skills to offer and want to contribute. Can someone connect me with the team working on this?

So… I came here for the same reason. I don’t think there is a team. Its up to TYT nation to organize it. I feel like a lot of people are on tyt dot com /ideas and that’s a terrible format for organizing.
@over9000 are you also interested in the website side of things?

should we start a new thread titled “Website Design” or similar?

I started a discussion on the TYT discord and have started a GitHub project. Let’s discuss there because it’s a little easier to organize than here in the discussion boards.

I appreciate the offer, but I wouldn’t be too much assistance, unless you need some outside the box perspective. Nobody had arranged any welcome message, there’s definitely not a rigid structure here, and the interaction is sporadic, but on Wednesdays everyone is welcome to come to the zoom meeting and pitch ideas or concerns. The link is at the bottom of the Operation Hope - TYT.com page.

This week I believe we’re having a talk about the Discord and Twitch communities, and how we can try to coalesce. I’m not in charge of anything, just showed up and decided to point things out, start a thread here and there.

Thanks for being here!

What if we run an ad like the Save the Children ads, and we run images of the Children of Gaza? But make it dystopian: “For only pennies a day, you can help murder these children. In fact, you already have. All you have to do is pay your taxes, and our government takes your money, and sends it to Israel to bomb children.” Sarah McLachlan is playing in the background. “Thank you for supporting politicians funded by AIPAC.”

Another wild idea, what if we stop paying taxes? Start claiming W-4 Exempt status with your employer and see what happens. Probably save that money in case you get audited later. But make them come after you, file IRS extensions saying yeah yeah I’ll pay my taxes later. Maybe the IRS doesn’t have the funding to come after everyone and meanwhile you can sleep knowing you are not currently giving the government money for foreign wars and ICE secret police.

Hello everyone I decided to create a simple Instagram page around the kids of Gaza idea. I’ve included 6 kids with photos and bios from the Guardian. Have a look. @kidso.fgaza

Hey so it sounds like there are actual web devs here so the jinja template I was going to volunteer is likely irrelevant, but Cenk read a comment on the air about using AI agents and Replit, and I just wanted to throw out there that, due to the nature of the website we’re creating, we should minimize dependence on 3rd party services and hosting that could take issue with the cause, and keep security in mind since the plan is a PR campaign against Israel.

Agree on limited dependencies for multiple reasons.

The site were working on is statically generated meaning we can literally host it anywhere as there’s is no server side dependency. We could even move it to the P2P web if we needed to.

We’re also limiting the package dependencies used for the dev build, which limits the potential attack surface there. Lots of thinking around operational security as well.

Please join us on the Discord and/or GitHub to join the effort!

That sounds great! I’m more of a database and analytics guy if there’s any use for that, I’ve mostly worked with healthcare data.

A static website sounds perfect! I haven’t messed with P2P web but that sounds really exciting. Joining the Discord now

Hello everyone! i just got off of a call with my contact for gaza, his name is dr. rabnawaz afzal, and he is the owner and founder of the Gaza CSK humanitarian group. It is a small humanitarian group that has been providing aid to palestinian and sudanese familes, along with aid and protection to women and LGBTQ+ in Uganda for the past two and a half years. He has agreed for his team on the ground to send photos and videos of many living children in gaza, including their name, their age, what they like to do, and how much the genocide has impacted their lives. The aid group will send me around 2 to 4 of these photos and interviews a day, as well as provide translations into english. I believe these testimonials will serve a great purpose in furthering our cause.
I know very little about coding and creating a website, so I would really appreciate emails or general contact information to those actively creating the website.

Amazing! You can use the form on the site to add children: Memorialize a Child :: Kids of Palestine

Please note that we are currently tracking 3 broad categories of harm:

1. Violent attack

2. Deprived of resources (e.g., food, water, shelter, medicine, medical treatment)

3. Abducted or imprisoned

If there are others we’ve not considered and that are applicable, please let me know.
