Reaction to Democrats Blaming the electorate - My simple take on Latinos

As predicted, the lashing out at the electorate has begun. Mah Gawd!

The rhetoric that struck a nerve the most with me today was the way Latino men were thrashed on corporate media today. One of them was The View (why would anyone in the world watch this show for political commentary is beyond me). I expected biased commentary towards leadership there, no shock or judgment.

But the most infuriating to me that I have seen was this dumb ass guy named Victor Martinez at MSNBC who directly blamed Latino men for not wanting to vote for a woman because of sexism and shovenism: Hermano: estas pendejo! Pero bien pendejo!

I don’t want to spend too much energy or time on this nonsense but here are a couple of thoughts. He claims that toxic masculinity and sexism are rampant in the Latino community, unfortunately. That is bullshit. What world do you live in man? While I admit that has been the culture in the past (hey, I’m from Spain, I know how we were programmed traditionally to think) and perhaps still lingers within our community, we have also evolved.

And to lump ALL Latino men into the group as if we didn’t come from a myriad of different countries with different levels of everything is plain stupid, ignorant, and yes, racist. In his feeble little mind all countries in Latin America evolve at the same snail pace and homogeneously… what a preposterous notion!

Hey dummy: if Latinos hate women so much, perhaps you haven’t heard, but why did Mexico just elect a woman president. Her name is Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, by the way, look her up: she is fucking awesome!

I don’t know who this guy is, I just caught his last name and he seems to own a radio somewhere on the east coast. but he is an embarrassment to the community if that is what he is going around telling democratic pundits that is why so many went to Trump. By the way, could it be that you are projecting a little there buddy? I would look inside your own dumb ass views more.

The reality of it is that is a complex reason because we are a complex and diverse community. The reality is also that no one came to talk to us. It was assumed that we OWED you our vote. And when we didn’t, now you’re antagonizing us.

Keep punching the electorate in the face instead of self-reflecting and self-criticing. That is going to go very well in the next election cycle with your voters.

These people are gone. Blue Maga I tell you!

Generalizations about the diverse Latino community are exhausting. I share your frustration with misleading statements from figures like the MSNBC host.

Your point about community growth is spot on—Mexico electing Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo as president is a significant achievement! Her story highlights our progress against outdated views.

Assuming any group owes votes is a mistake; real progress requires meaningful dialogue and addressing voters’ concerns. Let’s foster nuanced conversations that celebrate diversity rather than perpetuate stereotypes. Your voice is valuable—thank you for your passionate input!
