Full disclosure: I believe socialism works well when it manages an essential service that the private sector cannot do well because of the profit incentive of the private sector to manipulate the market; examples: power, medical, highways, rail…
And I still think Mandami’s City-run stores are a bad idea, when there are already solutions like Trader Joe’s and Aldi’s and you just need tax and rent abatements to encourage them to open in neighborhoods that are “affordable food deserts”. There’s no way the City can run a supermarket better than those chains that have tons of experience doing it!
