I feel like the left-wing gossip peddlers and mongers don’t deserve the definition of progressive media if they continue behaving like they have been. They need to be put on a timeout and actually deconstruct their own behavior.
And you just know their live streams tonight are all about “catching feelings”. I want to believe they will evolve but like anything human it will take too long. They’ve caught me in a mood.
wow, I do not agree with Mondale’s reaction to Cenk and all the reading in to this. God that took forever to get to the point of why they supposedly disagree.
I am not sure there is much difference in substance but a problem of loaded words and messaging and subjective interpretation.
Sad that the actual right and wealthy are succeeding in dividing the left because we are reeling from the failures over decades of blue dog third way establishment Dem candidates.

Am I wrong but isn’t all this in-fighting really about trying to figure out how in the hell Trump could do better and win in 2024 than 2016 and 2020? Isn’t TYT just trying to look at what is really going on in the minds and motivations of voters without lumping them all into one category because doing so is lazy and doesn’t help us move forward.
I think looking at some of the messaging choices on the left should be evaluated and discussed in earnest. Being ‘woke’ has become a negative… why???
Black Lives Matter while true … the wording does seem to turn a lot of people off. Defund the police is a scarier proposition and means something different than police reform or criminal justice or purging white suprematists and race bias from the justice system.
Calling people sexist racist or white privileged is not helpful. Most people just need to see or experience the difference and will be more ‘woke’ in a good way. Others need a bit more help getting there.
For me, Trayvon Martin and Tamir Rice were shocking examples. And in my own experience, I drove black Milwaukee voters to the polls without incidence but on one trip I rode as a passenger with a black man driving black voters to the polls. The police stopped the black volunteer driver from entering the same drop off point that I had just used on my own without a problem. When i started speaking back to the officer, the black driver asked me to stop, and in that moment I realized speaking back to the police could be dangerous for him whereas I felt safe and thought it was reasonable to point out the difference in treatment. That is white privilege I personally experienced, and it is wrong for police to treat us different, but if someone looks at me with judgment and accuses me of
white privilege I am offended.
As another example there are similar problems in the messaging/slogans in reproductive health. pro life vs pro choice. People naturally want to be seen as pro life but it is ironic the underlying meaning of pro lifers is that they do not really care about the life of a baby outside the womb as much as in the womb. And that messaging is really about control of woman and their bodies. On the flip side pro choice makes it sound like people are flip about choosing to end a life when in reality we know it is about having autonomy of our own bodies and health and not being second class citizens only valued for reproduction.
Some messaging/slogans stick and they can be more destructive and/or off-putting to many, and thus nay be detrimental to the underlying purpose. I think that is what I’ve heard Cenk and Ana try to express at times. I do not think they are moving to the right.
While I get what you’re saying, I can understand Mondale’s position. He and his wife have had their lives threatened, so when Cenk and Ana go easy on the Right it would be beyond triggering. I don’t think it’s a matter of semantics, I think it’s a matter of not feeling safe.
I lost some respect for Mayor Mondale when he just up and quit TYT without even talking to Cenk. And Cenk said he offered to talk to him AFTER Mondale quit live on Ben Dixon’s show and Mondale still refused it. I get the hardships that Mondale has gone thru in the past 4 years since he became Mayor and all the literal life threatening situations people put him in. But taking it out on somebody that is trying to help like Cenk and TYT is not the answer. Especailly like he did.
I don’t know if you saw tonight’s show(Fri 12/20/24) but Cenk said that he is looking into making that Bonus Episode and even Tonight’s full public. Currently they are Members Only to watch.

Just to be clear, I love TYT; I love the TYT shows, the TYT hosts, and the whole damn TYT family! If I didn’t love them I wouldn’t care enough to get upset about things, you know what I mean? I’m just one of those annoying people who thinks it’s better to get things out in the open rather than let them fester and slowly eat away at things like a malignancy. 
Thanks for adding this. I’m newer here and so, I easily thought you were going off TYT. I have not seen nearly as much of the critical or criticized content. But I have not seen anything that makes me think TYT is either going easy on the right or going too hard on the Democratic Party. One video looks one way to me and clearly, very different to some others. It’s confusing.
I’m a newbie, too, compared to most.

I don’t think that means what her haters thinks it means. I get the criminal justice thing. I’m not an ACAB guy by any means. Her views on gender… yes, that movement needs a reset and a recalibration. But she needs different sourcing than Jesse Singal & Katie Herzog. The latter of whom is a bad faith actor.
I’ve tried to handle tough conversations with clarity and integrity, even in the face of hostility. If anything, my main “misstep” was spending energy on discussions where the other party showed little willingness to engage in good faith. Setting firmer boundaries and choosing when to disengage is definitely an area to reflect on.
I’m too much of a stubborn Capricorn.

One thing that bothers me about a faction of the left is how their behavior mirrors what they criticize in MAGA supporters. They don’t realize their actions alienate people, fracture movements, and impede progress. I get their frustration—it’s hard to engage with those voting against their own and others’ interests—but I’ve observed this toxic dynamic for over a decade. Even during Obama’s presidency, trivial critiques often masked racial biases.
This entrenched “left-wing MAGA” phenomenon has been a problem since the Tea Party. Initially targeting the right, left-wing purists now attack their own side for “not good enough” behavior, fostering infighting and purity politics. This reflects systemic perfectionism and binary thinking, stifling progress and mirroring the very systems they oppose.
Meaningful change requires coalition-building, strategic engagement, and embracing incremental victories while maintaining long-term goals. Progress is about shared humanity, not rigid ideology. Together, we can reject purity tests and build inclusive, impactful movements.
And that “Left-Wing MAGA” or as I call them Blue MAGA are the ones that Cenk is always complaining about and I think they are the Vocal Minority currently in the Left.
I think the current TYT bashing is from this. With Cenk going out there and trying to do something so soon after the election and the Left being basically destroyed from the loss; they are directing their anger at him and TYT. I know anytime I ask the “lefties” what they think we should do all I get is “sit & see what happens and hoping that MAGA destroys itself”
