After much reflection and encouragement from friends and colleagues, I’ve decided to run for Governor of New York. I’m an outsider, a registered independent with no formal political background, but with a deep passion for change.
I believe the current system needs fresh perspectives, and I’m ready to bring bold ideas to the table. However, I’m aware that connecting with the Democratic Party and entering the primary as an independent is not a straightforward path.
I’m reaching out to this community because I feel connected to you all and am a supporter of the progressive movement. I know there are many of you who have insights into grassroots movements, political strategies, and the workings of the Democratic Party.
I would appreciate any advice on:
How to effectively engage with the Democratic Party.
The process of entering the Democratic primary as an independent.
Building a campaign that resonates with the diverse voters of New York.
Your input could be instrumental in shaping a campaign that genuinely represents the people’s voice.
Great question! This is largely why I am considering going Democrat.
As a registered independent for the last decade or so, I already work closely with several grassroots groups, and our fundraising strategy builds on those relationships to engage supporters across the state. By leveraging digital platforms, hosting community events, and fostering transparency, we empower individuals and organizations aligned with our vision to contribute. Additionally, I’ll draw on my background in computer science and data analytics to optimize social media marketing and expand our reach effectively.
I do not know what it would look like if I were inside of the Democratic party. All feedback is appreciated.
@madhat That is a great decision, we need more people like you to decide to run for high office. I am from NY also and am strongly considering running for senate in 2028. Is it fair to assume that you support getting big money out of politics? If so, we should absolutely connect. My email is [email protected]. We just launched the website, www.The75.us and will be launching our social media campaigns next. As you can tell from the website, we believe that campaign finance reform is long overdue.
Best Regards.
You assume correctly. I took a look at the website. I am supportive of the mission of The 75. When is the next meeting? I would like to join. I just sent you an email also.
That’s excellent, you just made my day. We meet on Tuesday’s at 10pm EST (to be able to cover the west coast as well). I’ll forward you a meeting invitation. These meetings are generally a little over an hour and we cover weekly progress, discuss focus for the upcoming week, and longer-term ideas.
