the conversation with cenk on this issue just seems so repetitive. i can do both sides of the convo.
it goes audience member: i understand needing to work with people we don’t like but why go out of your way to comment on tucker and mtgs morals and character?
cenk: when what we’re working on is as important as gaza, when we need every voice we can get in the fight against israel, when they have the ability to reach more people on the right than us what am i supposed to do say no? say i don’t like what you said 10 years ago so i won’t accept your help? well hell no I would never act so selfishly.
audience member: i agree with you that we should work with these people for many of the same reasons as you i just don’t understand why that means we need to vouch that they are acting out of principle or morality?
cenk:when we work with these people it doesn’t mean we endorse everything they have ever said.mtg and tucker have both said terrible things that they have apologized for. on the left don’t we believe in forgiveness or are we so selfish that being right is more important than making the country and world a better place?
audience member: of course not. fixing the countries problems is obviously the priority. as long as we’re just working with them and not telling people that they are principled and moral.
10 minutes later cenk calls mtg and tucker moral and principled
