The Gravity of the Moment

I cant help but think we do not fully appreciate the moment. As we speak, he is dismantling any potential opposition inside the Pentagon, all Federal Law Enforcement agencies, DOJ, all of it. He is ignoring courts and selling off the government for parts. We need to organize, mobilize and demand the donor class stop bribing our politicians. Every day we spend on anything other than coming together and demanding they stop, feels like a waste of time. I agee we need to do a lot, but none of it will matter in the face of an existential threat. We have allowed the problem to fester for decades and if we dont end it, its gonna end us. The coalition building would happen orgbanically, if we can make enough noise as a group. We can, but we all have to work toward the one goal. Anything else seems like distraction. I am sorry and I do not mean to diminish the fight for all of our agendas. We have been fighting the same fights for years and very little has changed. Now, corporate interests have complete control.

I appreciate it, I appreciate it! <joke>Watch that use of the royal pronoun, bub.</joke>

Check my posts on suggesting that it’s time for some of the States to form a compact and fill in the lawless vacuum introduced by the Supreme Court.

Yes, to sum it up: people are thinking this can be fixed with a pendulum swing at the midterms. If they are cutting medicaid and they KNOW that’s unpopular with their base, it doesn’t take an Einstein to see what they have in mind -and it ain’t going to be: wait for the midterms!

Agreed, and in mid-terms we will get what, right? We know what we will get. More feckless, corrupt, corporate lackey Dems who will be “better than the other guy”, but just as useless to us. Both choices funded by, in many cases now, the exact same donors. Its gonna be game over, soon. If its not already. Look at what this psycho has destroyed in the few weeks he has been POTUS. Two years, at this pace, is probably gonna mean the end of domocracy. So, if we cant all come together now and fight the donors head on, when will we? I say that because that fight has to happen and its just a matter of how strong we let them become. They damn near have all 5 infinity stones, so…

We may not even get a [REAL] midterm! That’s what it’s looking like to me right now, being that they are crapping on their MAGA base…

@russrcaldwell2 and @patrie In the Operation Hope Town Hall meetings, we’re working on the Populist Plank, which includes “Money out of Politics” as one of its six policies. Since this is an issue you are both passionate about and both of you would bring a ton to the group, I suggest joining the meetings. Plus, I would absolutely love to see you both there! Reach out to @karaeastman or @mggbwmn8. They are both brilliant and the ones leading the charge.

Thank you for the advice and I will look into the Populist Plank. Maybe I am overreacting, but the country sure seems to be in distress to me. If we dont eliminate corporate interests, nothing will change. I believe Cenk has committed a ton of resource and focus on this issue with Wolf PAC, etc., yet here we are. Unless every one of us organizes and mobilizes soon, things could get real bad, real fast. Honestly, I guess time will tell. I think now is the time to organize all reasonable people and demand congress, or whoever, introduce a national referendum to make elections publicly funded and to make any private contributions illegal. In the absence of this kind of organizing, I can’t see a path forward. An unelected donor has, literally, bought control of the government. The DNC is not our friend, so its just us now. I hope I am wrong, but its what I see.

Maybe we can talk, offline, after Wednesdays meeting? I hope I dont come off as the harbinger of doom. I feel an urgency and I really dont know what to do about it. What little I can, personally, accomplish out here in nowhere Montana, feels like throwing a stone in the ocean and hoping to turn the tide. I am scared for the future of our country and that phrase now carries a different immediacy. Maybe I am overreacting and have cabin fever. I hope that’s the case.
