I must confess that I did NOT see this one coming: the ability to unredact Epstein docs. I thought it was just going to be an inevitable ton of redactions (like they often do with FOIA requests…) and months of cornering them legally to unredact more -a legal race down to the midterms wire! Well…that’s what the Repubs were led to believe, and once the discharge petition forced a vote, they supported the release [nearly] unanimously counting on that.
But now Bondi, Patel, and Trump have been caught in BRAZEN lies. There’s no more ability for anyone to remain in denial as it being “just the Dems” -anybody saying that is just engaging in trolling and also professing (NOT believing…) that Trump will have a third term and <wink>pro wrestling is real.</wink> Trump Repubs have completely lost the trust of MAGA and Indies.
It’s not a given that votes will convert to Dems because the owners of the Dem Party still want to stick to their AIPAC America-last guns! But any Repub running on the platform “Trump HAS TO go” in my opinion will soon enough be a shoe-in in Red districts.
Jim Jordan’s running interference for Trump, among others, will get him shellacked. Carrying water for Trump now will get you jack shit, unless you are presently getting pay from Trump’s frauds (I call those people the “ring of grifters” -his sons, Luttnick, etc.) MTG did a der-hey upon realizing this.
It can be hard to admit to constituents that you were so wrong on Trump. But if you go Repub and are not on record as having supported him, it can be snap easy to have a platform now of Never Trump. Voters are so fed up with AIPAC/America Last, if they are in a Red district they will sooner opt for a Repub option of a Never Trumper (no matter that the Repub party had enabled him…) If you had asked a Repub in a red district two weeks ago if they would want to run against a Trump Repub, they would have been inclined to say no, knowing how deep the MAGA denial ran about Trump/Epstein. Now, after the redaction blunder, showing that Trump had been brazenly lying to them? There will be a number of Never Trumpers running in midterm red district primaries against the likes of Jim Jordan and Lindsey Graham. My guess is some will now be running on campaign promises to impeach Trump. “MAGA” will get replaced by “America First”.
Time to wake up to this, Dem Party that is owned by corporate anti-worker/anti-union and Israeli interests. Time to wake up Sanders, if you want to save the country from the worst inclinations of the present owners of the Dem Party with an alliance of Independents.
