There's No Crying in Baseball

We’re acting like children with our “I’m going to Canada” attitude. No, you’re not going to Canada. Your job is here. Your family is here. If you could go to Canada you’d already be in Canada.
Plain and simple – we lost. Its our own fault and nobody else’s. We didn’t play the game good enough. The other guys did what they had to do to win and we failed. Lets brush ourselves off and stop crying. There’s no crying in baseball.

I agree with the general idea of what sciguy24 is saying here, but I would have said it this way:

Alright, let’s take a step back and breathe. Yes, Trump won, and it’s definitely a tough pill to swallow for a lot of folks. But let’s drop the dramatics about running off to Canada, as your work is here, your families are here, and we’re not out of options. Democracy isn’t over just because of this result; there are still strong guardrails in place. The Constitution, our state systems, and legal checks all serve as barriers to any extreme shifts in power. Sure, there are challenges ahead, but there are also safeguards that make it tough to completely upend the system overnight.

This isn’t the time to give up or beat ourselves up. It’s more about recognizing where we fell short and figuring out what went wrong. The other side played hard and knew how to rally their base, and there’s something to be learned there. So let’s shake off the defeat and get back in the game. Democracy isn’t a one-shot deal, and we’ve got more chances to protect and strengthen it going forward. It’s time to dig in, stay informed, and keep working for what we believe in.

Look, Trump’s zany plans, under the guidance of the Extremists that he turned to due to everyone else bailing out of his madness, requires him to hit quickly and do extreme damage to the Federal Government System before the tremendous backlash comes from not only the true Left in this country, but his own Cult like followers on the Right. (And those of you who are Blue MAGA Democrats, you are Centrists, so stop being bumper sticker Liberals and pretending to be on the Left, which is part of how we got into this dilemma to begin with.) Already, the extreme people in Trump’s circle of power are predictably splitting against one another, and even the traditional Republicans are using this opportunity to try and grab back power themselves from the MAGA lot that they hate as much as the Democrats do. To add insult to injury, I predict that Trump will attempt something theatrical like a televised deportation of immigrants, which will backfire to the point that it will make Kent State in the 70s look like a Tea Party. Look, these MAGA supporters want you to runaway from all of this, thus lending credibility to their silly claims that you are all a bunch of snowflakes, buttercups, and whiny and sensitive little Woke people. Trust me when I say that time is not on the side of either Trump or the Billionaire donors who decided to go all in on this grab for power in the United States. I think that the Billionaire class knows that they are in the proverbial “crosshairs” and that their only chance of avoiding major concessions, which I think is an eventuality anyways, is to damage the structure of the Federal Government. Don’t run to Canada, Folks, stand up and fight and remember the Bravery of Colonel Smedley Butler who outed the rich the last time they attempted this sort of Coup back in the 1930s. Besides, if this sort of power move works here, Canada will be next. In other words, you can run, but you can’t hide.

All you had to do was vote for Jill Stein or Cornel West. It’s not like Harris was going to be pro employee class and anti-war. If people want to leave then they likely have good reason. Do we know all of each others’ circumstances? No, we don’t. Stop berating each other and just get to doing what you can given your own circumstances and capabilities.

I can confirm that the next Canadian election appears likely to follow in the footsteps of the 2024 US election. It’s funny that even Americans are pointing this out at the same time that I just got an email from Member of Parliament Lloyd Longfield telling me that he won’t listen to me because I seemed to infer that he was stupid when I pointed out to the Liberals that the next Canadian election will follow the example of the 2024 US election.
