Agree. She would be better serving in the Senate
The biggest problem for Turks right now is he is alienating new viewers with his emotional yelling. Yes: a bunch of thugs who use dogs to rape Palestinians need to be yelled about, but when a person is new and sees Cenk doing that, they will often go “pass” before having given him a chance. Present the facts and logical arguments (some clever sarcasm and mocking works great too..); stow the emotions
Here’s a great example of Carlson being on the wrong side of history (even though he is spot on about the co-option of the American political process by Israel…):
Carlson: Just When We Thought We Had It All Figured Out (link…)
Here he is pooh-poohing the threat of climate change due to carbon overproduction. In this video [he just released] he attributes recent climate change to natural causes, not man-made ones.
We have a direct correlation to fossil fuel consumption; we now have melted icecaps -a never-before witnessed natural event; and we have record-setting temperatures across the planet in the past 10 years. And he wants to say: “Hey, who knows? I concede it’s unusual, but it might just be a natural process!” Classic manchild rationalization I would expect from most libertarians (are any climate conscientious?!): “I don’t want to be sacrificing my comfort or bazinga profits for nature and ultimately the well-being of our descendents!”
I predicted China would be going gangbusters now on nuclear; I saw that confirmed in a news item a week ago. Not only China, but Europe too. I hope countries falling back to nuclear enter into treaties that promote better safety protocols then they had used for Fukishima.
America? “Burn, baby, burn!”l Or how’s about “Fry, baby fry”?? Or “Starve, baby, starve”, when you can’t grow crops in 140 degree weather?! You have CACTUS in the southwest that is dying off. Once you melt off most of the ice from the caps, the moderating cooling action of the oceans will cease and we will rocket to ultra-high temperatures in many places.
Trump is STILL trying to block windfarms to get a payday from the oil industry. He causes energy prices to go up in order to get a payday from Israel, and now he still wants the payday from Big Oil for blocking renewables.
There has to be a drastic cut over to the use of renewable and safER nuclear. Can it replace oil completely anytime soon? Of course not. But was everything possible being done to accomplish it over the past +20 years? Also: of course not; and the famine bill has been coming due…
cenk reading the end of a comment “principals before personality.” cenk says: here here yes! totally agree principals matter and by the way o yeah but are mtg and tucker carlson etc. principled? well they proved it! if they weren’t principled they wouldve said o trump is right war is great we love israel we hate iran and you should hate all muslims yay! but they didn’t instead they were principled! that matters a lot man and people that aren’t giving them credit for that is mind bending. - cenk uygur
that’s the quote that is upsetting to me. makes me feel like cenk has lost the plot and is vouching for their character not just working with them. which is crazy to me
gotta disagree. if i had a news show right now it would be 99% pointing out the evil of israel.
gotta disagree with this too. Cenk giving the appropriate emotion to emotional stories is a huge thing that brought me in. i get its not for everyone but i love it i love it i love it
satirical video of tucker but with all real quotes from tucker. just another quick reminder of who tucker has been for years and the damage he has done
thats the goal! thats the plan here
Nick, he is pointing out the sins of Israel with regularity , more than most. My only issue is domestically, there is a huge move by the Supreme Court and Republicans gerrymandering the hell out of Southern states. They’ve abolished the Voting Rights Act. I just voted here in Louisiana in the current election, and now MY VOTE is null and void. These motherfuckers aren’t fulling around, negating laws and the Constitution. They want a Confederacy 2.0 taking us back to Jim Crow times. This is dangerous because if we lose the midterms, that’s it-Nazi Germany 1935. So I don’t deny the Israeli story, I’m with you on that, I only wish denying one’s right to vote is also covered with the same passion . Jack Callahan
thats a great point Jack! you’re probably not wrong. but i’d be making the same mistake as tyt so i can’t judge. as important as voting rights are it’s difficult not to do story after story about the pure evil being done by israel. especially when every voice and every story is needed to fight them
the conversation with cenk on this issue just seems so repetitive. i can do both sides of the convo.
it goes audience member: i understand needing to work with people we don’t like but why go out of your way to comment on tucker and mtgs morals and character?
cenk: when what we’re working on is as important as gaza, when we need every voice we can get in the fight against israel, when they have the ability to reach more people on the right than us what am i supposed to do say no? say i don’t like what you said 10 years ago so i won’t accept your help? well hell no I would never act so selfishly.
audience member: i agree with you that we should work with these people for many of the same reasons as you i just don’t understand why that means we need to vouch that they are acting out of principle or morality?
cenk:when we work with these people it doesn’t mean we endorse everything they have ever said.mtg and tucker have both said terrible things that they have apologized for. on the left don’t we believe in forgiveness or are we so selfish that being right is more important than making the country and world a better place?
audience member: of course not. fixing the countries problems is obviously the priority. as long as we’re just working with them and not telling people that they are principled and moral.
10 minutes later cenk calls mtg and tucker moral and principled
repeat convo
