As mentioned in one of his most recent videos, there is precedence in law that a naturalized citizen has every right that a natural born citizen has. Looking into what he is talking about, it does seem like there is a sound case to be made that he can, in fact, become POTUS. It would be untested, but law is a matter of logic, and it would be completely against vast amounts of previous legal precedence that such requirement could be enforced against a US citizen just because they are naturalized. Logically, he should be entitled to every right as a US citizen, up to and including running for president.

The legal challenge would have to be brought as well. That in its self would be politically spicy, and may cause Cenk so get even more support.

I believe it and I believe Cenk could pull it off. Hearing that he was considering running for president and the legal argument that he has to be able to do it… Between this and Project Hope, I almost legit cried. I haven’t felt hope like this in a long time.

Also, it was decided nearly a decade ago that nationalized citizens are free to run for president in relation to Ted Cruz so please look that up for anyone that is confused. Ted Cruz was born in Canada and Trump tried to use that against him and lost.

Both Ted Cruz and John McCain were born in a foreign country to parents who were American citizens. Therefore they both can and did claim citizenship by birth. Cenk was born in Turkey to Turkish parents. Therefore he is a naturalized citizen and not eligible to be the President. It’s in the constitution. You only change the constitution with an amendment, not but challenging it in court.
It can be challenged in court if an interpretation of an amendment that currently exists would lead one to logically conclude that a naturalized citizen would be eligible to run. This is the exact tactic that Cenk is using. There does exist an amendment that if interpreted logically would mean that naturalized citizens can run for president. Again, all of this was mentioned in one of the latest TYT videos, and again, this is very well backed up by legal theory.

Natural born citizen is a term of legal art. That view you hold is common, however if it was held at the time where is it?
The first 7 presidents were not born here. I have looked for evidence of there thoughts on this and it is clear. My opinion is this idea that has been reconstituted in a modern framing being used to control historical context.
Simply not true, unless you want to say that they were all born before the United States existed as a nation. All of them were born in what would become the United States.
George Washington - Virginia
John Adams - Massachusetts
Thomas Jefferson - Virginia
James Madison - Virginia
James Monroe - Virginia
John Quincy Adams - Massachusetts
Andrew Jackson - South Carolina
Cenk is a Lawyer. If he is seriously considering it, he must have thought of your concerns already. Cenk seems to be running as an emergency measure vs what he considers (and I this far) a sure lost by Biden. Him running will stir the pot and maybe bring some more contestants… if not Cenk (best case scenario) another that could beat trump (I feel weird capitalizing his name as I don’t have respect for him… you don’t capitalize letters for respect, but for him I will make the exception).

Since when can’t the constitution be changed? It’s happened many times. And frankly, I’d vote for him before I’d vote for anyone else in office right now. Even AOC, Katie Porter, etc.

Yeah I see your argument, they all were born in territories that would later become states. I think that is an observation that wasn’t made back then as far as I can tell. Which isn’t to say it didn’t happen. I am just saying I have looked and never found it.

I think a bunch of people may confuse natural born citizen, with birthright citizenship. If you read the link it is super clear any citizen can run. As long as they are 35 years old and have a residency in the country for 14 years.
If you read it literally it actually says only people that can run were alive at the time of the adoption of the constitution. So if you read it literally it reads that presidents were erroneous since William Henry Harrison with the exception of Zachary Taylor.
I maybe missing something here, I have no formal legal education. The first portion reads:
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution,
Why would they put in the part of “or a Citizen of the United States” if they didn’t mean by the process of naturalization?

I hope Nina Turner’s big announcement this week actually means that she’s running for President, possibly as an Independent, with Bernie Sanders as her running mate. If she’s participating in Operation Hope, then this is also the case.
