Khanna Care

This is a new project we will discuss tomorrow during our working group meeting!

Dear Representative [ ],
I’m writing to urge you to co-sponsor H.R. 3493, the Global Fairness in Drug Pricing Act, introduced by Representative Ro Khanna.
This important legislation addresses the outrageous global disparity in prescription drug prices. Right now, Americans are paying up to four times more for the same medications that are sold abroad at a fraction of the cost. This bill would require pharmaceutical companies that receive taxpayer support to disclose their international pricing — and ensure U.S. consumers aren’t being ripped off.
We deserve transparency and fairness. American taxpayers help fund the research and development of many of these life-saving drugs, yet we end up paying the highest prices in the world. This is not only unfair— it’s unsustainable.
[Add your personal story, if you want]
Please stand with patients and families across the country who are struggling to afford their medications. I urge you to sign on as a co-sponsor of H.R. 3493 and advocate for a more just and affordable drug pricing system.
Thank you for your time and service.
Sincerely,

Big Pharma is screwing us.:heavy_dollar_sign::pill::nut_and_bolt::united_states:
Americans are getting charged WAY MORE for the same meds sold abroad at a fraction of the price. And guess what? WE helped fund the research.
Meanwhile, drug companies rake in billions.
It’s time to call out the scam.
Tell your Rep: Support H.R. 3493 – The Global Fairness in Drug Pricing Act.
Let’s stop letting Big Pharma rip us off.

Is it strong enough not to get lost in all the other action calls?

I don’t know. I do know that the statements and declarations we write in the GPAX seem to me much more urgent. Of course, we have a bunch of us giving input.

We also do webinars on various topical issues (in our peacenik purview) and it occus to me that Op Hope could do similarly.

Could we try this?

Subject: You Have a Choice: Stand With Pharma Profits — or With Us

Dear Representative [_________],

Americans are being ripped off — and everyone knows it.

Prescription drugs that cost pennies abroad are bankrupting families here at home. We pay up to four times more than patients in other countries — even when our taxpayer dollars helped develop the very same medications.

H.R. 3493, the Global Fairness in Drug Pricing Act, offers a simple, commonsense reform: If a pharmaceutical company gets public funding, it must disclose its prices around the world — so we can finally see the truth. If they’re charging Americans more, they should be forced to explain why.

This bill won’t fix everything. But it draws a clear line between those protecting corporate secrecy — and those defending the public interest.

We’re watching who crosses that line. And we’re keeping score.

I urge you to co-sponsor H.R. 3493. Show us that your allegiance lies with patients — not price-gouging drug companies.

Sincerely,
