I think there is a version where people think Trump was unfairly targeted by all the criminal cases combined with failure of the govt to timely hold him accountable and disqualify him as a candidate, plus corporate establishment Dem candidate plus Gaza plus the terrible economy is too much and yet it will all get way worse!
I am on SSDI living with my elderly parents on Social Security and with Insurance on our condo sky rocketing after big hail storm damage last year… and grocery prices doubled. We are screwed.

Hey look at it this way, even though both ballot measures failed to get 60%, over 50% of Floridians voted in favor of abortion and recreational weed. That’s actually a MAJOR victory. Why do I say its a victory? Because we’ll never see Dumbass Donald on a ballot ever again!
As a Floridian, I think I’m going to focus my efforts on statewide politics because I think that’s the only way progressives can make any headway on healthcare and education. On the national stage, I think the best use of our time is to get the money out of politics.
I think that is very polly anna. It is over. The country is screwed, the judicial system is cooked.
We are well on our way to bottoming out. I cannot even say how bad I think it is going to get. Who will survive and will it take a civil war to rebound?
We can’t let election losses dampen our resolve. Its always about tomorrow!

Ever since the day Biden stepped down and NOT A SINGLE DEM CANDIDATE OFFERED TO STEP UP [at an Open Convention], this has been a slow motion car wreck for me. I didn’t want to be accused of being a saboteur by screaming on these boards this won’t work. At the giddiest hour when Walz was selected, I was saying it won’t work without offers on improved job security and clear intentions to break with Naziyahoo if he kept up his WWIII shtick…

I agree Sciguy24. Shitty day that’s for sure. I’m trying to give myself some grace to feel all of this and just process it. That’s going to take some time and I’m discovering I need to be kind to myself and those around me as they do the same. I’m so grateful for what Cenk and everyone has created here. As I told my wife this morning, it has given me hope (and continues to do so). One day at a time. Some of them will be better than others but there will be better ones.

There was no reason to step up. As VP she had the best chance to win. Exit polls are showing uneducated white men and latino men made the difference. Immigration, the economy, and abortion were the main issues. This is what we get for being a country of religious nationalist ignoramuses. We should be fighting state by state on our issues.

Donald tRump did NOT win the election yesterday. Just like in 2016 the Democrats lost the election because they are wanna be GOP. If the Harris/Walz campaign would have just accepted the Cheney endorsements and then moved away from them and done some actual Populist stuff they would have trounced tRump. Maybe since this time they also lost the POPULAR VOTE as well as the Electoral College they will smarten up and all the DINOs can switch to being actual GOP and leave the Democrat Party for the Left/Populists

No it’s not complex. When Kamala Harris picked Tim Walz as her VP her polling numbers went up but when she started to suck up to the Non-MAGA GOPers like the Cheneys her numbers dropped. Was there other stuff that contributed to it? YES, but this was the main thing.

Her not giving a concession speech, to thank her campaign workers? That’s consistent with her 90% turnover and not showing up for the Al Smith Dinner with even a credible excuse. She doesn’t care (or more to the point: DID not care…)
