MTG flip?

Yup……

You see….? Just the issues…case by case…

But it’s pretty clear to me that her change on healthcare (specifically on the ACA, which Trump has wanted undone ever since he was humiliated at the Press Club dinner by Obama…) indicates that she smells that it’s over for the Repubs. She appears to have political survival instincts (or whoever is counseling her does…)

I honestly don’t care what her motivation is as long as she keeps advocating for the issues we need advocated and voted for.

She is definitely a mixed bag, @patrie and @eagle1 One day she is bemoaning the loss of life of tens of thousands of children in Gaza, and the next she is complaining about Mamdani’s primary victory by posting a picture of the statue of liberty draped in a burka. But this is our life now; a living enactment of the “strange bedfellows” cliche. It’s weird and uncomfortable, yet neccessary. I just hope we can achieve the outcomes we seek. But even if we can’t, our willingness to try makes this the right decision.

As I said… Allies only on the right issues because she flips worse than a pancake…

Glad she is changing her stance for whatever reason. Maybe it’s because people are blowing smoke up her butt saying she’s the next president which won’t happen but either way the pancake keeps flipping…

AOC perfectly portrays my train of thought on MTG’s flip. The change of policy is welcome but I don’t trust her. As long as she votes for the right causes why not cautiously work with it?

Xactly. I wouldn’t trust her as an alliance or party member until she demonstrated as least two years of consistent fealty to the working class, and she stops with her vilification of Islamics and immigrants shtick.

As Bernie stated: we needed a border policy that screened for violent criminals, and the Dems were just not doing it (unfortunately…)

I’m sorry but even after 2 years I don’t know if I could trust her but I’d work with her on issues if she keeps this up.

She’s unrecognizable the way she’s talking though.

I’m just glad that everyone; Cenk included, is taking her with a grain of salt and saying “OK you said it now PROVE IT!!”. I’ll take her on a tear against tRump and MAGA tho if it will help us accomplish our goals too

Just remember peeps, we are the movement that believes in and wants prison rehabilitation right? People can change is my point. What if she isnt even changing and was just paid to say those dumbass things? She has said some sick shit over the years ill admit.. but its time to play ball for real and push past those grievances. When building something, dont be petty and not use a certain tool because you dont like the brand or feel, just get the job done.

Completely understand your point of view but not being petty. Cautiously optimistic is a better description of what’s going on here with MTG. You’re correct, she can be an excellent “tool” for progressives to use but you wouldn’t use tools like a nail gun or a blow torch haphazardly. We have to be very cautious with her actions and ability to flip like a switch at the drop of a dime.

Yep true that. Seems like the left can use all the help it can get as things stand. Love the analogy with the blowtorch etc too :handshake:Sorry i wasnt meaning to call anyone here petty, i just meant people in general. Like i can totally get any lgbt+ person for example would tell her to fuck right off and we shouldnt really tell them otherwise untill she makes up for alot of things said over the years but maybe itll be easier to educate her on things we disagree with if we can find common ground like these certain things she is flipping on  kinda like how Cenk said he would have a beer with them hey?

No worries… I know what you meant . As far as her flipping it’s like the rest of the right wing… when they find themselves agreeing with “the left” it’s like they have had an epiphany and it a novel idea while instead of uniting to get it done the crap on the left and never get anything done. The left and the right have a lot in common. Difference is the way the right goes about it is how dictators rise as in VENEZUELA and other places which is why globally the word socialism has been stigmatized.

The United States already tried capitalism alone and failed… case in point… the Great Depression. What saved us? Injecting socialism!!! Since then, when our taxes have been managed properly by elected politicians we have thrived!!!

I say we work with her as much as possible. Those are bad views of hers for sure. But we need progressive Congress people like Ro Khana to help her whip votes for the core economic issues that are most important. Then we try and get her to stop being racist. But if she has influence on the right and can help us whip the votes we need for key economic policies we need to work with her.

I think some squad members need to start working with her to truly start bridging the gap
